    Nash Construction is a terrible "contractor". The lead employee - Mike Nash - is the son of the owner and licensed person, Robert Nash. Robert Nash no longer lives in the state of North Carolina and has no role in the company; Mike is using Robert's license without supervision.

    Mike Nash will promise the world but not deliver. He's distracted and disorganized. He hires very cheap inexperienced (and in some cases, illegal) labor to work on the job site, and does not bother to show up to instruct, guide, or review the work done by the workers. He will provide a contract but not adhere to it. Instead of hiring proper subcontractor companies (e.g., for siding, plumbing, carpentry) he will often have his inexperienced labor do the work - leading to serious mistakes and defects, weeks of time instead of hours or days, and re-work. The inexperienced labor (and Mike himself) will do work out of order, leading to expensive or difficult (or impossible) work.

    Our project was meant to cover three goals - a finished attic, a new freestanding two-car garage, and a master bathroom. The project was meant to run four months. Right now it's one year from the start, and only the attic is complete (after many mis-steps) and the garage is nowhere close, having failed structural inspection four times, and having significant quality issues. Nash Construction has been paid in full for the attic and garage, and has run off with the money without delivering the work at this point.

    Some examples - siding was installed incorrectly, leading to warping of siding boards and gaps in the install; wrong windows were ordered that didn't match each other; a promised window was forgotten in the design; the garage bay door openings were 7'8" wide instead of the 9' size; electrical trench was covered without key wiring installed within it; inexperienced non-licensed labor handled plumbing cuts that were against code (and violated structural integrity of the slab); drywall was (poorly) installed before wiring and plumbing was complete; picture nails were used in drywall to hang shelving; and much much more. Nearly everything was done wrong the first time.

    If you need to be this on top of a GC, then you don't need a GC. Mike Nash has not performed as a competent GC or even contractor, and has abandoned the job with between $15-20k of work undelivered despite receiving payment.

    Worse, many subcontractors refused to come to the job site, because they were not paid by Nash Construction either at all for prior work or in a timely fashion.

    Avoid this contractor at all costs. Mike Nash is not reputable - he has zero interest in delivering quality work, will not tell the truth, will not honor his commitments, and will not get the job done. Literally one of the worst contractors I have ever encountered.

    His father, Robert Nash, was equally disinterested in resolving the situation.

    NOTE: Five star reviews are showing up on other pages advertising this company, and none of these reviews have corresponding permits in the local county permit agencies. This is a sign of a service provider in desperation. Do not be fooled.
