This contractor came to service my furnance through HMS home warranty call for a loud grinding noise from the furnance when it is starting. He replaced capacity first which didn't help reducing the noise, he then lubricated the furnance motor, it reduce the noise temperary, he tried startup the furnance 5 -6 time after lurication, half of them furance still startup with noise. He told me that let oil socked in for a few days, the noise should go away and give him a call if not, he will contact warranty company to get motor replaced. Sound nice? he walked away wtih my $100.
Sure enough, the noise didn't go away, called him two days later and he said that warranty company didn't authorized the replacement. I called HMS and was told that the contractor submit the note saying that it was minor noise and no mechnical failure, minor noise is not covered by warranty.
I paid $100 for the service call, and end up with a faulty furnance motor with covered up noise.
I am giving him one star (zero I could) for his dishonest and indecency.
Try to avoid this company and this person if you could.
