I am paying for a repainting job as a tenant, who is being charged for "damages" after moving out of a room that is owned by the home-owner. This company charged $500 for a "2-wall paint job", but when I had gone to look at the reconstruction work myself, all the walls (approximately 5 walls, including the interior of the closet) had been repainted. The 2 walls that I know that actually did need repainting jobs because of furniture marks only had minor scratches, and I have the pictures to prove it. All contracting and communication was solely done between home-owner and contractor, and I, as a tenant, was kept in the dark about all costs to "damage". When I asked the contractor directly myself for pricing per square foot, I was given a flat rate of $500 and no other information. When I asked for a receipt, it shows no information about details of work (ex: Number of walls, number of patching, square feet covered, price of paint, manual labor costs). This leads me to believe that the contractor and home-owner have schemed to set a price and have kept me in the dark about the actual work and costs. The home-owner and contractor are both speak korean as their first language and seem to be in some sort of agreement that I do not know about.
