Subcontractors completed demolition in 2 days, then disappeared without any word for 3 weeks. In that time I reached out to the subcontracted plumber, who informed me he could not start until NETBF paid him as agreed. That was the holdup--this company doesn't pay their subcontractors on time. I contacted the owner repeatedly to ask what the delay was and the owner lied to me each time, blaming the permitting process.
Owner told me we could use my electrician for the electrical portion of the project, then she never contacted him. I kept trying to put them in touch with each other and the owner kept "losing" thr contact info. A month into the project the owner asked my electrician to put in a bid. Owner never got back to hom, so I took the bid and told both of them via email that the bid was acceptable to me, and that if it wasn't acceptable to the owner, I was happy to pay the extra beyond what had been budgeted. Owner ignored that email and weeks later told me her electrician would work on my project the next week. I wrote back, referencing our many conversations on the matter and the owner finally agreed to just remove the electrical from my contract (because she "didn't want to upset me).
Unexplained delay after delay for the general subcontractor's work while the very honest plumber did a great job very efficiently, as did my own electrician.
There are more details, but long story short: I booked this job for beginning of September and was told it would be complete " well before Thanksgiving." The job was finally finished January 7. Then a few weeks later I realized they never put back the vent so my dryer would vent outside. Called and emailed NETBF to make it right and have not received a response for over a month. This after paying every installment on time throughout the project.
Do not hire this company. The owner isn't exactly an outright liar, but she lies by not answering questions. The last I heard from the owner was repeated voicemail and emails the day the project ended to please pay them quickly because they are a small business, yadda yadda. I paid that installment as I had paid every installment before and have never heard from the owner since. My impression bssed on my experience is that the business is not solvent and cannot afford a quality general contractor, and regularly does not pay its specialized contractors on time.
