I hired Ruben back in March 2019. I'm writing this review now because I wanted to see how the paint settled and looked after a few months. I had a few other quotes for the job needed. I went with New Era, because I'm big on reviews and New Era had only a few, but they were all good. I received a consult from New Era for painting of the Exterior home, retaining block walls, front yard fencing, patio, front door and swing using three color options. Exterior of the home is great along with the block fence. However, my patio paint is starting to chip, my front door because it is metal the latex paint is starting to come off in certain spots, the door should have been fine sanded before painting so the paint can adhere correctly. Initially I was told by Ruben that the patio would be sanded down, because of the existing red patio color. This did not happen. The patio was painted with sticks and dirt on it. I understand this is going to happen depending on what type of weather you have. I believe it happened because they were just trying to finish a job on day 7 of what should have been 4. You are also told that if anything needs to be re-touched you have a 6 year warranty. I recently reached out to Ruben and was asked to send pictures of the front door and patio. We are going on day 6 of no response. I'm a big believer on get what you paid for...Also if you are going to hire someone based on warranty and workmanship then Ruben needs to stick to what was promised...Ruben seemed fairly new to the painting business, but I gave him a chance based on a few good reviews and his verbal dedication to fulfill what I wanted. I gave 3.0 stars because the exterior paint of my home and block fence are good. 2.0 stars due to no timely response or acknowledgement and 3.0 stars because the cost was reasonable. I need the inside of my home painted and I will not be using New Era for these reasons.
