  Landscape cleaning

  I cannot be more dissatisfied with your services. Your landscaping services were unacceptable but the utter apathy of your customer service was most displeasing. I asked that you trim some lagustrums and a forsythia and I asked that you clean and mulch the front flower beds.

  The lagustrums were trimmed outrageously uneven and still has invasives growing along the new surface of the hedge. I never asked you to dive into the hedge to remove this unwanted growth but, you could have at least removed it from the surface after you trimmed. Most infuriating, I explicitly requested this to be prevented, there is a mess in my neighbors yard from trimming these hedges. A small mess, for sure, but a mess nonetheless and a mess that I was trying earnestly to avoid. The last company I had service these hedges left a mess in their yard. It is rude of me as a neighbor to allow this to happen and more rude of you as professionals to expect me to make excuses for you. When I asked a member of your crew, while they were onsite, if someone could clean it up he acknowledged me. Not ten minutes later they were gone and there is still a mess in my neighbors yard.

  Your crew removed an entire flower bed!!! Why? Was it in the way? Was there a HUGE misunderstanding? 20+ years of flowers volunteering and reseeding are now completely irrelevant. Gone. Was the lead not paying attention? Maybe my instructions were fumbled somehow. I'm not sure. But it doesn’t make sense to tear out a bed including most of the plants, the timbers used for trimming and all but one section of the small small plastic fencing and then leave all the weeds in the bed. If you are going to tear it out at least tear it all out and make it look decent. Now I have ~36 sq. ft. space that is going to look like trash in the real estate photos.

  The shrubs in the flower beds still have intrusive plants and suckers and the beds themselves still have weeds poking through the mulch. This would have been easily avoided had they taken the time to pull the weeds instead of using a string trimmer. You were so hard up on pushing chemical sprays for my flower beds, claiming the weeds would be back in 7-10 days if you didn't spray. Well, the weeds can't come back if they never left in the first place. The front lawn around the flower beds is trampled and has mulch and plant debris scattered throughout as if they didn't even rake when they were done. Yet I was told that a supervisor raked BOTH yards when he came back this morning.

  When I addressed these complaints via email I was told that a supervisor would be sent out to make things right. Someone may have been sent but nothing was made right and the response that I received when mentioning my continued dissatisfaction was self-inflating disinterest. Congratulations, you have pictures; my yard still looks like shit. Nothing was done to assuage my needs as a customer and potential future client. But all of this is irrelevant. Newell Lawn and Landscape has portrayed themselves to me as nothing more than fly-by-night landscape company taking advantage of the landscape boom and trying to make a quick buck. Companies like yours seem to have little to no respect for the horticulture or landscape industries. You don't seem to realize that these are people’s homes. Ten, twenty, or maybe even thirty years plus of memories with these yards. Doesn't matter to Newell as long as your money is safe in their bank account. Now, here I am, trying to sell my dead grandmother’s house with a fucked up yard. Thank you for reminding me of what it means to be human.
