By Chas M.February 6, 2022Appliance delivery and install contracted through home improvement store
Add me to the list of no-call/no-show customers waiting on a delivery and install contracted through a home improvement store. No call to schedule, appliance not picked up, unable to reach this company or leave a message when I called. Fortunately I was able to cancel through the store rather than continue to risk dealing with this unprofessional company, but will now have to wait for a delivery and find my own installer when I expected to have an installed functioning item by now. Filed a complaint through the home improvement store asking them to stop contracting with this company.

By Larissa S.January 4, 2022Deliver and install dishwasher
We purchased a dishwasher through Costco with initial delivery and install scheduled for Nov 29. It’s now Jan 4 and after 4 no-shows and countless phone calls we still don’t have our dishwasher. Hands down the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Avoid at all costs; it is absolutely not worth the hassle of trying to deal with these people.

These guys are lazy, dont want to work & dont know how to make anything happen. After 3 unsuccessful appointments with different sets of installers... they all have the same terrible work ethic. I got my money refunded thru Lowes & hired an independent contractor who installed it quickly without any excuses about the “fit”. It fit perfectly. They just dont want to work, have low standards & were shady... grown men who wear sweatpants to work....Wish they didnt know where i live.

Nickson was very responsive in scheduling replacement of our microwave. They called the night before, just as they said. They called 10 minutes before the installer arrived. The installation was done efficiently, successfully and immaculately. The oven works. We are completely satisfied with this professional installation.

No communications, don't take responsibility, and the staff who picked up the call blamed customers being frustrated (?). We ordered the dishwasher before Thanksgiving. The first order was broken so that's Costco Logistics' fault, we rescheduled to 8th for the delivery and 10th for the installation. On the 8th I did not receive any notification, so I called and was told it was on 9th, both delivery and installation. No one informed us of this change. so okay 9th it is. On the 9th, they did not provide a delivery window and I had to call again. They gave me 11 to 3 and we waited, till 4 they reached out and said their truck was not able to fit in our street so they had to reschedule. This piece of information was provided at the delivery order when they asked us if a 6ft truck can fit in and we specifically said no, the street is narrow. So anyways, we had to agree to reschedule again to 14th, as expected, no email no phone call until this morning. I called again and was told that their system had it for the 15th. I don't know at which point their team communication just fell apart like this but this is no way handling service business. Statistically speaking, there should not be so many unlucky people who happened to experience this, we are seeing a pattern here. I've filed an official complaint against this subcontractors through Costco customer service and also a complaint against Costco Logistics. If you have a choice, avoid this company. No discount is worth throwing yourself into this kind of loop.

By Anthony R.December 6, 2021Lowes used Nickson as a appliance install service
Would not recommend this installer, or purchasing appliance installation services through Lowes. First, showed up hours after scheduled install window. For a basic dishwasher install, installer charged an extra amount (unvalidated beforehand with Lowes), with no approval required and no receipt produced. When questioning an obviously mis-installed part, installer responded with "yeah, I hear that a lot, but that's the way it is". It wasn't (according the install manual); I fixed the installation after they left. Found water and natural gas (....why the natural gas?) still shut off after installer left. Trash left in yard.

Ordered a dishwasher from Costco to be installed on 10/28 between 1:30-5:30. No on called or arrived. I called at 5:30 and was told the installer was still on their way after another customer. I called again at 7:30 and left a message. Called again at 9:30 and left a message. Called on 10/29 at 9am (time of opening) and left a message. Called again at 10:30 and left a message. Called again at 11 and FINALLY got someone to pick up the phone. No explanation as to what went wrong and the "best" they can do is reschedule for 11/1. Absurd. The biggest problems are the lack of anyone calling me to let me know that they would be late, let alone need to reschedule. I will be recommending that Costco no longer use their services.

This was the most unprofessional experience ever. Bought a dryer from Costco. The installation was supposed to be performed between 1:30-5:30. The guy never showed up. Once I called and complained, all of the sudden the guy called and said he is 5 min away ( by their agreement they need to call 30 min in advance). I told the guy I just left and will be back and to wait to which is was rude and said no and just hung up. Disgraceful customer services

Would not recommend this contractor. Had appointment to install dishwasher and never showed nor called to cancel the appointment. After we called them the next day, were told driver had a family emergency. Contacted Lowe's who called them as well and were told that the driver had tried to call us but received no response so he didn't want to drive to our location if we weren't going to be home???? Absolutely not true. Never received a phone call and we were home the entire day. Very unprofessional service. We had Lowe's cancel the installation with Nickson and had them reschedule with another contractor.

They installed my dishwasher, 3 days later when I went into the basement water was pouring out of the ceiling. Now they won't take responsibility for the damages they caused.

Nickson Home Services installed a Whirlpool dishwasher today and things could not have run smoother. John & his helper did a wonderful job with the install.
I was concerned having read some of the reviews but in my case everything went well. Best Buy is horrible but Nickson Home Services did fine by me. -

I'd give less than 1 star if I could. We ordered a dishwasher from Best Buy that was meant to be installed by Nickson Home Services on 7/12. Nobody showed up and no explanation was given. Got rescheduled to 7/17, nobody showed up again and once again received no explanation. Finally got rescheduled to 7/19 and they finally showed up. Marched into our house and said we need to pay an extra $89 to replace a "super corroded" valve under the sink that had never leaked before. We (naturally) refused. They then hooked up the dishwasher and left very quickly after tricking a grandparent at home to sign a form absolving them of damages. Now (surprise!) the valve is leaking everywhere and my calls aren't being returned.

I would also give them ZERO stars if I could. They were sent by Best Buy to install a double wall oven and dishwasher. They did not come on the dates and times they were supposed to and finally when they did show up they were late. They came in a Budget rental truck that leaked oil in my driveway, used a sawzall to cut and hack custom premier cabinets which they damaged, chipped my granite counter tops removing the dishwasher and banging it around. Tried to rip me off saying that extra work needed to be done AFTER the fact. Stole my dishwasher that was NOT to be taken. We found out they are not licensed in New Castle County, DE. Of course Best Said they were licensed but the county said they are NOT. The owner of the company has his mother as his secretary and hires people off the street and on facebook to work for them. DO NOT let this company in your home. Best Buy never told us who was coming to do the work until all the DAMAGE was literally done! We notified Best Buy immediately of all the damage done to our home, appliances and our dishwasher being stolen by them! The dishwasher that was being replaced was a top of the line stainless steel and was only being replaced because it didn't match the color of the new appliances. They were supposed to leave it in the garage but when they left we went in the garage and it wasn't there! They also said they had to replace lines and do extra plumbing work because the connections were old. They didn't realize the dishwasher they were replacing was relatively new plus we purchased an extra kit just in case. I would recommend to the other people that had damage done to call Best Buys (or whatever company hired them i.e Sears etc) insurance company and Nicksons to report the damage. We have told them to stay away from our home and property but they will NOT listen so I may have to call the police! We have told Best Buy on the phone, in person and via email to stop sending these people to our home but they continue to do so! Why would we want anyone who is unlicensed, tried to rip us off, scam us, lied, stole from us and damaged our home to step foot on our property! They also use several different address and phone numbers (NJ DE PA) and the addresses are fictitious. The better business bureau gave them an F rating and they don't respond to complaints and the mail the BBB sent them was returned was returned because the address they listed was bogus. I can't believe Best Buy sends them out to scam, rip people off and damage their property knowing all of this!

By loving.martinisMarch 28, 2018Best Buy contracted them to install a dishwasherRead more
These people need to be put out of business. We have been without a dishwasher because these people said the dishwasher I ordered from Best Buy (they are contracted through Best Buy) couldn’t be installed without $400+ worth a plumbing work due to us selecting a closed bottom dishwasher (Bosch). Open vs closed bottom is not info disclosed on store or manufacturer websites. I called Bosch to ask if they made open bottom because of what NHS said and they were appalled that we were told it couldn’t be done. That the install is the same regardless. Best Buy kept taking NHS’s word, probably due to not knowing anything about closed vs open bottom. Exchanged it for a LG that LG confirmed on the phone is open bottom. NHS came back to my house with the LG, reeking of cigarettes. They said the LG couldn’t be installed because it was closed bottom even though I told them LG said open. I didn’t argue because I saw online the reviews of property damage, trying to scam money, not being licensed, and the F BBB rating. I made Best Buy pay for a licensed contractor of our choosing to install our LG. The person we used had no problem installing what NHS said couldn’t be done and he confirmed that we could have had the Bosch installed. They were being lazy since it was a little more work or trying to scam us since they told us we needed $400+ worth of plumbing work. Lowe’s customers beware. These jokers told me they install for Lowe’s, too. Free installation from big box companies doesn’t mean it’s being done by competent, honest, and vetted people.

They were contracted by Sears to deliver a dishwasher on Thursday. When I contacted them to provide a better number they said they dont deliver on Thursday and wanted to schedule for the following Monday. As I purchased from Sears due to the assurance it would be delivered in 2 days time, I balked, and they said they would deliver on Sat. I got a call the following day stating they would deliver and install the dishwasher between 11:30am and 3:30 pm.
At 2:30 they call to state they are running late and would be there at 4:30. At 445 2 calls were placed to find out where the dishwasher was. They lied and said they called and left a message at 3:30 to state they would now be there at 5:30. Checking my phone I verified, no call, no message since the 2:30 pm call. The individual who allegedly made the call was not there at which the individual now claimed she made the call.
I immediately called Sears to complain at which time they called the establishment and were greeted with more bald faced lies about how they told me they would be at my house by 6:30.
After complaining to Sears about their horrendous customer service and professionalism, a gentleman called back to make excuses for the installers who never once called to tell me they were running late, and how they would get the job done today if we still wanted it. When asked when they could reschedule, rather than offering to do the installation first thing Monday morning, they said the might be able to do it Wednesday. As this was unacceptable I told them if the assured me it would be delivered and installed today, my wife and I would wait.
We canceled our dinner plans for our anniversary, and ate the cost of theatre tickets, and of course they never showed up and never had the courtesy to even call and apologize.
I would never recommend this company to anyone for anything, and by the time I am through I will make sure Sears cancels its contract with them. -

We bought several appliances from Best Buy after we closed on our new home. The delivery schedule kept having issues, but was then finally resolved. The final piece was the dishwasher which was to be installed. Best Buy uses this company for their "Geek Squad" Installs. The technicians from Nickson Home Services showed up that morning to install. in preparing the area, one of the technicians broke the water valve under the sink (They stated it was already broken) connected to the old dishwasher. This caused water to shoot out everywhere. Water dripped down into our finished basement over our brand new washer and dryer. the light fixture filled up with water and the drop ceiling was destroyed. In addition, the shelf warped and a section of the carpet was soaked. They stated someone would return in an hour to bring humidifiers and fans. after 2 hours I called and was told they would be there at noon as they were coming from New Jersey. I called at noon and was told I would hear from them shortly. At 12:30 I received a call from a tech that said they were about 40 minutes out and they were coming from Delaware County (not New Jersey). They finally arrive and set up the equipment and leave. I am told I would hear from ownership later that day. Shortly after they left I noticed a large bubble forming in the middle of the room. I called them back and they said they would try to get someone back out, but the only crew was the original one that caused the damaged. I said I didn't care and that it needed to be fixed immediately before more flooding occurred. They cam back with tarps and buckets and drained the water. I was once again told that the "owner" would call me that day and they would take care of the damage. No call that day. No Call that Saturday when I was told they were opened. Finally a get a call from someone on Monday. I asked if they can come after 4 but was told that was not an option. I made arrangements for them to come at 10am Tuesday. They arrived at 10:30. They assessed the damage and said I would here from ownership by Thursday. No Call Thursday, Friday, or the weekend. I left several messages and finally received a call back from the guy who did the assessment at my house. He said the Owner (John) said that because it was my valve that I need to handle it through my homeowners. I was given John's direct number an left him a voice mail. Company is unprofessional and does not take responsibly for damage they cause.

Came to install microwave over my range and said they couldn't get the old one out because of the tile backsplash. Went back and forth with the guy for a little bit and told him I would try it myself and he screw the old microwave back to the cabinet and said it couldn't be done. Within 5 minutes of them weaving I was able to unscrew the microwave and get it out by myself and called them to tell them they needed to come back and install the new microwave. After agreeing to come back when they were finished with the job they were going to two hours later I got a phone call saying they weren't coming back and they would put me on the schedule for Monday. So that's totally unacceptable and wouldn't recommend using them for anything.

Very poor customer experience. They arrived late with no apologies. They also were very unprofessional in handling this matter. Secondly, they charged added parts and labor even though I paid to HHGregg on parts and installation. Laurie was very rude and not even considerate of the situation. I DO NOT recommend them for any service.

I have had the pleasure of working with this company on numerous occasions through Sears and I always give them the highest score possible. I have had a dishwasher, walloven, cooktop and disposal put in over the last 2 years. I have seen the reviews listed below and I cannot praise these folks enough for following the motto on their uniforms; they really did make our house a home. Thanks to all the gentlemen that have come into our home during that time!

I would give them a zero if it were permitted. The technicians they sent to my home are incompetent and lack integrity. Not to mention one wreaked of Alcohol. I ordered an AC unit from Sears and then requested installation services. These guys came to my house did a shoddy installation job and damaged my unit in the process! I am totally disgusted and trying to get some resolve since April 28th the day of the installation. No response from Sears or Nickson Home Services, then I receive a letter from an attorney for Nickson saying that they are not responsible. Then who is? They are a lousy contractor DON"T EVER USE THEM!

My experience with this contractor was initially very good. I ordered appliances from Sears and the installation of the dishwasher and refrigerator was handled by this employees of this contracting firm. Sean and his partner were on time, pleasant and seemed to know exactly what they were doing.
However, they inadvertently screwed one of my cabinet drawers closed when they installed the dishwasher. Trying to get this problem resolved has not been easy. Laurie the supervisor stated she was only able to give me " a 4-hour window when scheduling. Since this was their fault I felt they should give me priority in scheduling to resolve this issue, She refused to do and when I asked to speak to the owner I was told he was not in. I asked that he call me which he has yet to do. Very unhappy with customer service in resolving a problem they caused. -

The only person concerned that my dishwasher order was not handled properly was John - he kept me informed and made every attempt to resolve the problem and did resolve it successfully. It is helpful to know what is going on and what is being done to fix a problem. If not for John, I would have cancelled the order.

We were connected to Nickson for our dishwasher install after ordering from Lowe’s. The night before we contacted lowes and they had not updated the order showing it was ready for pickup until after we called. I got in touch with the owner of Nickson and he was so kind in adding us to the schedule. It was just before the holiday weekend.
It’s worth double checking with the store you ordered from and the business.
