Above two comments hit the nail on the head. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM NORFOLK. We did..and it has cost me thousands to fix structural issues that they will not come back and address. The warranty department is a nightmare…and does not return to finish anything. Biggest screwing I have ever had in real estate ( and I have owned several houses). This one was over $500K. BUYER BEWARE. Norfolk Homes is unprofessional, unreliable, and uncaring. I wish these warnings were out there when we were buying. All of my neighbors absolutely hate this company. No one is happy. STAY AWAY. Please. (one star picked as I had to pick one to post) Should be ZERO.

This company has done nothing in building our home except to lie each step of the way! Our contract gave a date of June/July as the completion date. It is now Sept 22 & our house just sits unfinished!! We have had several contractors plus their saleswoman quit working for Norfolk hanging us out to dry. We have lost our loan lock and have been w/o a home since January when we signed a contract with them.
We would not even give them 1 star except we had to so we could submit this review. We warn anyone thinking of using them not to!! Norfolk is deceitful, unethical and will lie to your face with no remorse.

This company is truly a nightmare. The first lie they told us was related to our lot. They said in October that they would be breaking ground on our home, when in fact, the hadn't even purchased the lot from the city, and didn't buy it from the city until January.
We were told in our "selection meeting" that we could make changes until our pre-construction meeting. This was typed at the bottom of the selection form we signed. We went to make changes 2 months before construction started and were told we couldn't make changes. I was finally able to make changes after a very, lengthy discussion where I told them we would walk out on the house if we couldn't make changes.
One of the changes we made was ordering "semi-custom" cabinets. We had to pay $3500 down on the cabinets so they could order them and have them ready in time. Imagine my disgust when they ordered and installed the entirely wrong cabinets. Wrong wood, wrong color, wrong manufacturer! They offered no apology for this huge mistake. The did inform us that our closing would be delayed by 4 weeks while the correct cabinets were made. What was our $3500 for?
So now, we are barely going to be in our home by the time our rate lock expires. I have no faith that we will, indeed, be in when they say we will.
Norfolk homes is unapologetic, unethical, and deceitful. I saw 7 reviews on-line of Norfolk, and each reviewer gave only 1 star.

Bought a home from them 2 years ago. Materials used were very cheap, our light switches pop and spark. Hinges on doors are breaking with normal use. Installation of hardwood floors was done poorly. Just A LOT of imperfections throughout the house. Highly suggest people who buy their homes to get a thorough professional inspection done before their year warranty period is up. And yes they offer you the one year warranty but give you a hell of a hard time fixing things. One of our windows in our master bedroom was completely different from the rest and rattled horribly with any sort of wind. They finally came and replaced it, but had to remove siding from around the window. They said they ordered more siding to fix what they had to take off... it's three months later and we still have no siding up. We live in Michigan where it rains and snows constantly so wouldn't be surprised if we get further damage to our home.
