If I could give 0 stars, I would. I gave Jim the deposit requested and was told they would build the panels the next week, and install the week after next. This was on July 20th. It is now Sept. 26 and the job is still not done. He is not returning any of my text messages, so I will be in touch with the attorney. I have filed complaints also. Hopefully, something will help

Please read all the reviews and believe all the negative reviews. My husband and I was really impressed with Jim’s quote and knowledge he had about screen enclosures. We signed the contract with him in 6/2021 to do a screen enclosure and to put up 4 vinyl doors in our pool area. This was a big job and the quote was $36,000. We were in the process of a pool remodel, so we initially needed him to do the footers first because they were needed before we could get our new pavers install. To get the footers installed, we had to pay $18,000. The footers got installed and he removed our gutters. We were ok at first because we trusted him because he got the footers done right away. But we started getting the no responses and the lies. He finally told us he was starting the work in January 2022. January came and went and he continued telling us he starting next week and that he has the permits, etc. We got to the point where we couldn’t continue with this because we had a timeline we wanted our work done and he stopped responding. I just asked for my money back so we can give someone else the job but he didn’t respond. So, I had no other choice, I had to contact an attorney. So, we started the legal process to get our money back. I hate that we had to go this route because we never wanted to put Jim on blast but we are on a fixed income and can’t afford to being taken advantage of and according to all the negative reviews , we had no other choice. My advice is to go with a company that is nationally known with positive reviews. Jim quit responding to us in April 2022. We paid him the $18K June 2021 and had to start legal proceedings June 2022 and he could’ve stopped the legal process by just giving us our money back. Terrible situation….

I signed a contract with Jim over a year ago for a sunroom. He did not and could not finish the job. Our contract included pulling a permit with the city and providing engineering documents; none of which was completed. He subcontracted many of the aspects of the job and I had to pay most of them directly. The roof leaked multiple times and Jim responded only once. After our last leak, I heard from Jim once again but there was no attempt to repair, only words. I finally hired a roofer to take care of the leaks. We mutually agreed that Jim could not finish the job and Jim calculated that he owed me $5,000 and would make 10 weekly payments of $500. After making one payment, I haven’t seen another penny. A lot of false promises but nothing else.
I hired another contractor to finish the job who had to create plans and engineering documents in order to receive the city permit. I got lucky by finding a truly responsible contractor, but it cost me more than I had initially budgeted.
Needless to say, we’re very disappointed with Jim and North Florida Leisure. My recommendation is to stay away. If you find that you cannot live without Jim, make sure he provides you everything he said he’d give you (Ie., permits, engineering docs, etc) BEFORE making any payments.

Works without getting permits and fails to respond to issues. You’re on your own to resolve any problems, like a failed inspection.

By Brian S.September 3, 2021Pergola$16,000
We paid $5500 deposit and we’re promised 6-8 weeks for a pergola. Great salesman, Rey nice and seemed to know what he was talking about. Got our money and the stopped communicating. After repeated calls a sub contractor finally showed to pour foundations. He didn’t know what was going in and said he only found out about the job the day before.
Jim filed no permit with the city. He lied to us on multiple occasions that the materials were on the truck and en route to be delivered. This never happened. I asked for a copy of the material Oder from his supplier which he would not provide. I didn’t care about his cost but wanted to see the date orders.
I would only get him to answer the phone if I called from a new phone number. When I did speak to him it was all excuses and someone else’s problems
This guy is a con artist. Stay away. We are taking legal action.

Absolutely horrible!!!!! We put down a $10k deposit 7 months ago. After numerous excuses Mr. James Couturier contact with us has stopped. We have left messages, emails....crickets. He still has not even pulled the permit to begin the work. We Do Not Recommend this Thief!

By George Carroll Hale I.February 18, 2021Sunroom repairs$500
North Florida Leisure completed some repairs to my sunroom, and I am very satisfied with the results. When I purchased my home last year, the sunroom had some minor issues. Jim and his team:
* Sealed the gaps between the windows and the aluminum frame.
* Installed new door hardware so that the door would stay closed/latched without having to be locked.
*Touched up the paint on the door (it now looks like a new door).
* Added some trim/flashing to cover some sloppy work by the installer (the original installation was not done by North Florida Leisure).
* Installed a sleeve on the door frame to repair and hide a crack in the original frame.I hope to work with Jim again in the future to complete some additional projects on my list. Thanks Jim and North Florida Leisure!

Contractor license on probation! Do not hire! James (Jim) Couturier is a compulsive liar. He will make up story after story. He is just out to steal your money. He is unfaithful, conniving, and just a bad person in general. I hired him for a sunroom almost 6 months ago that he said would take 6 to 8 weeks to complete. He corrected me after I complained and said he told me it would take 10-12 weeks. It has now been 22 weeks and he has done absolutely nothing. He needs to be arrested.
