I hired North Texas Concrete Raising to do foundation work for me at my Frisco TX home. I was told the 5-pier foundation repairs would take one day (start and complete May 25th)... it took 2 days. Not one as promised.
1.) I was assured that the area around the foundation repair would be cleaned up and the yard and surrounding area would be left "in exceptional condition...we do an amazing job of finish out after the job is complete” The 2-guys who were at my home doing the work left both days without any word/without letting me know they were leaving for the day... after the 2nd day I realized they were gone... I call Keith Brown (owner) to let him know the condition the yard was left in was a disaster. Keith assured me he would get the guys back out to correct and make needed repairs. Tuesday May 29th, Keith came to the house to assess the damages left by his workers, and their complete lack of respect for other areas of the yard, landscape, and flower beds around the house that were not even near the area they were installing foundation piers. Keith was shocked as the condition the yard and areas around the house were left...and Keith assured me they would be back out that day to fix the numerous issues.
List of issues below:
Loads of clay soil dumped in piles, with no attempt to even spread the clay soil out... and where there was an attempt, large clods were left around exterior of home... I told the guys exactly where to put extra soil...they put a lot (extreme amounts) in areas all around the house over well established St Augustine grass, and dumped clay on top of my wife’s flower bed and bedding plants (again in areas not around the foundation piers).
2.) The moved large landscape rocks and didn’t put them back, left one 30 feet away from where they pulled it up.
3.) The areas of where the piers were installed were left with a huge mound of dirt that was not packed down into the hole they dug... I stepped on one of the areas and my food sank, ...proving they did not properly pack the soil as they were re-filling the hole. ***I reiterated this point multiple times... and they always told me they did pack things down.
4.) They busted a sprinkler line at some point and did not let me know and/or test the sprinkler system following the completion of work. Hence, they just disappeared after the 2nd day at my home without letting me know they were “done” The area where the piers were place is in the same area as our master sprinkler system control, all the electronics and wiring exit the house at the same place the piers were installed. Following the pairs being installed, I noticed that the Zone 3 and Zone 4 area of the sprinkler system does not work.
• Keith, you made a statement via text message to me, that you did not need to have a post plumbing test done because there was no water source near the area of work you installed the piers. That is incorrect... there is a hose bib/water faucet right above one of the piers that was installed.
• In other areas where they dumped the excessive clay soil (that should have been packed back into the holes) they covered up in-ground sprinkler heads.
5.) In other areas where they dumped the excessive clay soil (that should have been packed back into the holes) they covered up in-ground sprinkler heads.
6.) In another area off the back patio they busted a slate tile on the edge of the patio that will need to be fixed/replaced.
7.) Multiple days Keith stated he would be here with the guys to work on the finish out of the job and not until I pushed the issue...
When they did return, they did just the minimum to correct all the piles of dirt that they randomly placed around my house... those area’s where I would not have wanted clay soil dumped and left in piles! These guys and their boss argued with me that they did pack the holes as they were being filled, and argued that they did not break a slate tile on the patio next to where they were working and had dumped some of the extra clay soil on top of my wife’s flowers. Which now are completely dead.
After keeping at Keith for a fix and resolution, he did send out a contractor to look at the broken slate tile, and a landscaper to look at all that is needed to finish the work packing in the holes dug for the piers, (that have now sank 1-foot), the sod that they killed by piling all this clay in areas that I did not want, replacing good black top soil in my wife’s flower bed where they foundation guys refused to clean out the clay...leaving the flower bed full of clay and leaving my wife’s plants buried (now dead), fixing the sprinkler system they damaged.
This brings us up to Friday June 8th (2-weeks) following the foundation work... Keith called me after I had asked him to let me know a status update and time when to expect the repairs to be complete. Keith told me “he wanted to come to the house with the landscaper he had send earlier in the week, as just the cost from the landscaper was more e
