They say you can swim in 2 weeks from the start of the project and we were!! Of course the finish concrete took a couple of weeks longer and them my wife and I did much of the landscaping after. I also built a gazebo on the pool deck.
The spring weather in Denver last year delayed our start date but once we got going all went smoothly. If you have kids they will love the equipment and the pool being lifted over the house. We worked mostly with Duncan one of the partners. He was at our project just about everyday and even when his wife had their second baby he was back in a couple of days. I had stamped concrete with our previous pool in upstate NY but we decided to go with a brushed concrete with 4 foot squares. It is really nice and not slippery . Jose was our concrete guy and he was great. He had some great ideas that we never would of thought about. I did not have to go look and hire my own concrete contractor , NCP took care of that. The automatic cover is great and is a great safety tool and it will keep the heat in on our cold summer nights ( and much less evaporation) I decided not to get a winter safety cover and I put a cheap ugly tarp over the automatic cover. A mistake ! My advice is to listen to the experts and budget the cover when installing the pool.
If anyone wants to contact me I will allow it through Sean or Duncan ( just ask them for my email contact) I also could send photos. I know other pool owners of the same type of fiberglass pool and I was told by them not to use their contractor. It is nice to be able to recommend Northern Colorado PoolsResponse from Northern Colorado Pools April 3, 2020Thank you Bill. It was a pleasure working with you and Mrs. Primomo on this project. Both Duncan and I thank you both for the kind review. We value each and every client and it’s nice to see and hear positive statements about us and our company. Cheers sir!

I contacted Sean Shiers, owner of Northern Colorado Pools, in August of 2018 to come see our large back yard in Fort Collins and to help imagine with me a 50 x 30 foot greenhouse with a 40 x 16 foot in-ground swimming pool inside the greenhouse. Sean immediately began drawing plans with the greenhouse contractor that exceeded even our own dreams -- but not our budget -- and began excavation for the pool immediately upon permitting in November -- which was necessarily followed by construction of the greenhouse in March of 2019 as soon as it was finally permitted, as well -- resulting in one of the most beautiful 'indoor' pools of any kind in the entire county. Sean was on top of every detail, from start to finish, including excavation, foundation laying, pool and spa delivery, pump, plumbing, heater, and equipment installation, coordination of the general contractor and constructor of the 1500 square foot greenhouse over the pool and spa, and of course, pool start-up and site clean-up. His extended team of subcontractors, including those for concrete, electrical, plumbing, and total landscape were some of the most professional and personable contractors of any kind I have ever had work at our house in the 28 years we have owned and lived in it. But for some extreme winter weather and an unexpectedly delayed city permitting process, the project, as scheduled, was right on time, and has turned our simple suburban residence into one having a slice of Hawaii in its own backyard -- year-round !! We have never owned a pool before and although the system we contracted from Sean is fairly low maintenance, Sean and his team of professionals, after installation and construction, have always indulged every conceivable 'dumb' question a new pool owner could ever ask -- with consummate patience, goodwill, and at no additional charge. I give Sean Shiers with his team at Northern Colorado Pools my highest recommendation as a pool contractor, as a general pool and greenhouse contractor, as a superbly expert professional craftsman, and as a an all-around good, honest, and friendly businessman who builds beautiful pools, spas, and their surroundings !! You will find no one better in Colorado or very far beyond to build your dream swimming pool and spa -- with or without a greenhouse over it !!
