NV Kitchen and Bath

I contracted with NV Kitchen & Bath to redo my bathroom as well as a kitchen and addition. I had read a pretty bad review (red flag 1) but it appeared to be about a specific project manager. When I brought that up to them, they assured me that would not be my experience. Once we settled on design plans and saw the contract, I had more concerns. They wanted 70-95% before the majority of the work as even started.
Throughout the process, their communication with us was terrible. I had to contact them to get any information. Before starting work on our bathroom (the first project on our list) they told us that some of the bathroom accessories we chose were out of stock and they wanted to pick substitutes. I found that the items were actually in stock and personally drove to a store near me to pick them up. From then on, the list of troubles grew, and I ended up being forced to come home mid-day everyday to check on the crew.
The most egregious problem that occurred was when the crew left a live wire in the walls and after numerous requests to have them fix this, I had to disconnect the wire myself. Everything else they did, from the subfloor prep to the grouting on the tile floor, was done subpar. Because they installed the floor unevenly, my vanity had to have a piece of tile shimming up the front corner to make it level. When they installed the tub, they scratched & cracked it so badly it had to be replaced. They installed the window trim incorrectly, so it had to be redone. I can go on, but this is how every aspect of the job went.
At one point, work halted for a week while our GC went on vacation without notice. I spoke to him about the need for better communication, and he agreed but never improved. As the project was nearing completion, I presented NV with the punch list of final tasks. I was told that the crew thought the job was done and because they were out of Baltimore, it was hard to get them to come down to do little things. I finished the project myself and then requested we dissolve the rest of the contract. They agreed and refunded me the money I had over paid, as well as delivering items already purchased. However, we never got finished drawings for the kitchen addition despite being charged the full amount for that service.
I tried everything I could to communicate effectively with them but was met with no call backs, few email responses, or incomplete responses. At my final meeting with them, they attempted to get me to sign an illegal non-disparagement clause. I cannot recommend this company, but I recommend you read all the reviews.

Do not use NVKB! We contracted them for a complete remodel of the first level of our TH. First off, they required %50 of the project total and it took them over 90 days to get started. They were supposed to be done in 4 - 6 weeks. It took them 9 weeks. They kept coming up with items that we had been assured by the designer and job foreman were included and part of the contract, only to find they were not, either by omission or disregard or contempt for the client! There were times, no one would show up to do anything for days at a time. One work stoppage… I didn’t see anything done over a three week period of time. There were many, many days where I was told someone was coming to work. And NO one would show up. Mind you… our entry level was completely gutted, there were materials all over and all the appliances in the dining room. Our lower level was unusable as we had to store the entire contents of our kitchen and bath down there. Let me make a real king story short. We paid for first quality materials and labor. Many, many things were done incorrectly if not just poorly! The cabinets looked like they were pulled from another job as they had extra holes in them. They couldn’t even fix a simple leak they had caused in the powder room! We had to call them back for that 4 times! We have many areas that we had to go back over and repaint because poor quality of work and lack of attention to detail by their subs!! I contracted this business to avoid the headaches and hassle of trying to coordinate the subs and services myself! Hah!! The joke is on me. They started out well, but soon the issues started when they informed us how many important items were not ordered, as they should have been, while they were holding my deposit! I do not recommend this business!

I am having a master bathroom installed and I will outright say it: this is singularly the worst contractor I have ever done business with. STAY AWAY FROM THEM OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES. My primary points of contact has been Adam Akpinar and Rasheed Goyushzade, both of whom have completely mismanaged the project. For example:

• We paid NV a deposit in June, with work starting in September, fully knowing there were supply chain issues that may cause a lag in materials delivery. The NV team didn’t think to order windows, which were a main component of the job, until at least mid-August (the window vendor confirmed the receipt of the order on September 15, which was one day prior to the start of work). Apparently no one but us understood delays in the supply chain.
• At the beginning of work, Rasheed and Adam indicated that the NV team would be at our house working on weekdays ‘starting sometime between 8-10’. Not only were there numerous no shows, no one bothered to tell us when people would actually be showing up. This project has dragged on so long now (over 7 weeks for a master bathroom!) that it has interrupted other work I want to get done.
• The NV team thought it was smart to install a shower that was missing a component and raised the prospect of destroying a wall in another room to fix it. The wall they wanted to destroy just had a closet organizer put into it. The NV team previously punched a hole in my ceiling and punched a hole in an adjacent wall doing whatever they were doing. While they fixed the ceiling, it was not timely. They never bothered to fix the wall so I hired another company, on my own dime, to do it because I was sick of waiting. Adam assured me that NV would take care of the damage they caused, but they never did.
• The NV team has now breached our contract in my opinion. Our bathroom was supposed to be in working condition weeks ago. The only delays recently have been under the control of NV, making breach of the substantial completion provision in our contract entirely their fault.
• There are numerous items that we ordered MONTHS ago from NV that they just entirely forgot to purchase (e.g., handles for our cabinets). Delays in us getting these items is not a supply chain issue – it is an issue of incompetence in that they just never were ordered.
• The NV team somehow rearranged wiring in my house to the point that it killed electricity in at least five other outlets at my house. I hired a handyman for some work around my house and he happened to identify the problem as emanating from the bathroom they are (still!) redoing. Adam admitted the wiring mistake and it is now fixed, but the question is how can something that stupid happen in the first place with a supposedly professional contractor performing work?
• Numerous times this project was represented as requiring 3-4 weeks, max, to finish. We are now over week 7 with no end in sight.
• The NV team has used my garage as their personal dumpster. I cleaned up an empty orange juice container, the safety seal on that container, and a plastic knife (they eat in my garage). I didn’t read in the contract where I would be required to perform janitorial services for the NV team.
• The NV team installed what looks like a child's toilet in my master bathroom. This toilet is nonconformant with specifications in our contract.
• The NV team misrepresented to us that certain sized tiles did not exist, even though they were listed in our contract. The NV team installed nonconformant tiles in our shower and it now has an odd look.

We literally cannot think of a more unprofessional, sneaky, untruthful, and downright horrible company. You will be very sorry if you ever hire these people.
