Humberto Garcia
Sole Owner
I had a pool built by Oasis Custom pools of Phelan California p.o. Box 290974 . And this pool builder does not know what he is doing. Humberto Garcia (License # 904273) will give you something that looks like a pool but will fall apart on you from day 1. I have fought with him for 4 years and the CSLB. I wrote this review about Oasis Custom Pools to let you know about his quality. This guy stuck trash into the grotto cave that was built and did not wrap the rebar with 2” of concrete per building code and engineered plans. There were empty paper bags from the concrete , lunches from the workers and pegboard all left in the wall of the grotto. He put a 50 amp breaker as the main breaker for the sub panel for the pool. This subpanel has 5 pumps all 3 hp each. They themselves pull 85 amps just to run. That does not count all the other equipment on the subpanel , such as the Ozone system , salt system, pool lights , yard lights, smart remote, heater, and outlet. Its over 125 amps that is needed on the main panel feeding the sub. I should have known the cheapest bid does not mean a good product. In my defense the stupid rock company (rico rock) referred him to me. He also piggy backed 2 pumps on 1 breaker, which the wires have started to catch fire and burn. He did whatever he could to get his money and run. Since getting the pool finished I have not been able to turn everything on at the same time or the breakers will all trip. The concrete deck he made was all slopped into the pool. There are planters all around the pool and right after the concrete was hard I started the sprinkler lines and one was broke. Well guess what, all the planters leak right into the pool. The funny thing was I asked him before the pouring of the concrete to make sure the bender board form was lower away from the pool so that the water would go away from the pool if the planter ever overflowed. Oh he assured me , he even asked his worker in Spanish and he said yes a few times. But to my amazement every single planter when filled with water overflows right into the pool with a ton of mud. Now lets talk about the slide he built. It looks nice but since day 1 I kept asking him to coat the slide that it was to rough. I tore my shorts the 2nd time I went down with my kids. Instead of coating it with a concrete slide coating he tried to coat it with a deck wax which wears off in a few weeks.
It was terrible dealing with this guy who was almost never around. I had to go out and make sure the workers were working and what was being done that day. He even didn’t pay for the concrete and the concrete supplier put a lien on my house. Now if that wasn’t enough. He had the nerve to include in his contract for pebble seen plaster but when it came time to plaster he tried to give me a generic catalog to pick a color from there. You know the old bait and switch routine .He also left rebar sticking out of the ground from the pool. He plumbed the filter wrong for the first few months the pool was turning green. And he ran the tractor into my house and broke open some of the stucco wall and broke the gas meter. He dug up all my sprinkler wires and taped them togather thinking that would hold until he left the job. And this guy still thinks he did a good job. Just to mention he was sued by another customer and she one. It on yelp. And he has a few complaints against him with the Contractors State License Board.
