Oden Home was hired to renovate 3 bathrooms in our historic house. The contractor gave us a time line of six weeks. In retrospect, it was clearly unrealistic, however, strategically presented to secure the contract. Needless to say, the project dragged on without urgency until we finally set a deadline after 17 weeks of sporadic work. They had total disregard of how inconvenient the prolonged duration of the project has been for the homeowners. There were rows of days when no one showed up, days when they worked for just a few hours, or come in in the middle of the day expecting us to leave work and open the door for them. The workmanship is average at best, but the damage Oden Home left throughout the course of the project has been costly. They sliced through an adjacent bedroom wall (with wallpaper) during demolition, broke the tiles while installing the shower system, splattered wood stain all over the floors, scratched the marble floor while installing the vanity, broke a glass window, installed the shower floor with an uneven pitch causing water to pool, and carelessly damaging various items throughout this historic property. The contractor would only communicate with one of the clients, deliberately leaving out the other, ignoring questions and messages. When asked to communicate as a group to prevent this, she continued to send private messages and phone calls behind the other’s back. She forbid the homeowners to communicate with her crew even when they were working in our own house. The final day Oden Home was allowed to enter the premises was for a walkthrough for the punch list. She confirmed the foreman was coming, as requested by the homeowners, but she showed up without him and argued he didn’t have to be there. The walkthrough was therefore cancelled. Later on that day she made false accusations of verbal attacks and aggressive behavior by the homeowner. She somehow forgot she rang a video doorbell which captured the whole encounter and has proven her allegations otherwise. Oden is dangerously manipulative, deceptive, paranoid and controlling. This has been the worst experience we have ever had. They certainly do not have the client’s best interest in mind.
