Kitchen gut reno, two bathroom gut renos, front porch reno, widening of doors, creating two front do
    $180,000

Disturbed asbestos in my house without testing prior, or containing, and refused to contain areas or cover HVAC openings while i.e. widening doorways, opening walls, gutting kitchen and bath, and refused to do work such as cutting woodwork and tiles outside. Heaving cutting one day which left my new stove covered in dust and he screamed at me when I called to tell him. HVAC stopped working one day after they said it was okay to turn it on - cause was the drainpipe was covered in sawdust as he refused to cover HVAC openings when work being done. Now have to get house professionally cleaned by asbestos removers and he will not get back to me with his insurance information. Did not get sheet metal permit for HVAC and he and his subcontractor lied about it for months, and was very hard for them to cooperate to get the permit. Did not get a permit for Apt. 1 until months after starting work. He owes me $12,600 as I paid one contract payment twice in error and he will not give it back. He ruined my hardwood floors - told him prior to work starting that they were in good shape and I wanted them covered - he never covered them - said he would get them refinished but he wouldn't let me get a stain even though some of the floor had stain - his sub did a horrible job refinishing - the floors burned your barefeet and very minimal movement left deep scratches - he screamed at me when I told him this - I had to pay out of pocket to have another company fix the floors by buffing and adding another coat - he ignored requests to cover the cost. He only had one person on his team who did not have a trades background, and he was a poor communicator with his worker, client, and subs. I also told him before we hired him that I wanted the upstairs unit deleaded. He did not disclose he doesn't know how to do this until after we signed the contract and he started work. He also only printed out one copy of the contract to sign when we paid him first payment of 1st contract (30%) - I asked why he didn't bring two copies and he said to save paper. I requested a copy of the signed contract for our records on that day and he never provided one and has ignored follow up requests for it. Did not create change order clauses for added work, despite saying in his contract that he is responsible for writing change order clauses and need to be signed by GC and client. Tried to charge twice for plumbing work. Changed layout of bathroom against my will during gut reno, I wanted to keep bathroom in same layout - he ended up putting a smaller window in the front of the house where the bathroom is which looked horrible from the outside, also he put the shower tub combo in the window in the front of my house, assured me no one could see in (there is a lot of foot traffic and an intersection right at that window) - I put a plank in the middle of the tub and you could see it clear as day - after this knowledge he had to redo the bathroom as the original layout, which is what I had wanted all along. Took over 1.5 years to finish work - should have been done in at least half the amount of time. I could go on.
