Peter and his happy band of Irishmen did a nice job on my tiny studio renovation. Energetic and very honest. Workmanship good to excellent as long as it’s fairly straightforward. Awesome installation of crown molding and re-did bathroom. Price was fair (face it, renovation in Manhattan isn’t cheap). He’s got a great sense of humor too.

Hired Peter for a kitchen and bathroom renovation. In summary, he is akin to a used car salesman. Foremost, he did not come close to meeting my expectations in terms of when he said the job would be done, causing a longer than expected stay at a hotel.
He also puffed about what a stickler to detail he was but subcontracted a sloppy painter (still finding paint speckles on tiles and vanity); didn't take care of properly installing the ceiling around the riser; left sloppy edges where the floor meets the walls and cabinetry in the kitchen. These may seem like small details but when you pump a bunch of money into a renovation using quality products, sloppiness on these details stands out big time.
And forget about him ever coming back for follow up work to finish the job. Several times he said he would stop by and never did. So I had to hire somebody else to finish the job properly.
This should not be seen as a negative concerning the crew that work for him. They're good and work hard. He just does a terrible job of allocating his resources and, as a result, fails to manage the customer's expectations in the process.

This review is pretty long overdue, but last summer/fall, Peter and his crew pulled out and re-laid the hardwood flooring in our coop apartment on the Upper West Side. His team did a great job: The work was done on time and (basically) on budget, and after 6+ months, everything still looks perfect.
During the demo, we encountered a series of odd structural aspects of the building (which is about 100 years old). Peter offered high quality, but cost-conscious advise on how to resolve or work around the issues. His team worked well with the building's staff, and there were no meaningful complaints about their presence, noise or conduct.
Would happily work with Peter and his team again.
