My house is approaching the 50-year mark. Over recent winters with brutal and abrupt shifts in temperature, I noticed that the mortar was crumbling in several areas between the bricks of my home. The horizontal ledges in front of each window seemed especially vulnerable. In addition, such openings are invitations to stinging insects who are looking for cozy spots to build new nests. I knew I needed pointing, particularly on the exposed west-facing side of my house. However, I was dreading finding someone who would be competent; I was dreading the mess (I was told by someone in construction that muriatic acid would be needed to clean up the bricks after the mortar dripped all over them); and I was dreading the expense. Fortunately for me, I found Jeremey Kalchthaler and discovered there was nothing to dread. Jeremey came promptly to give me an estimate which was more affordable than I had anticipated. He came as promised to do the work, which requires skill, artistry, and care. He does not need to use muriatic acid on the bricks because he does not make a mess. Jeremey communicates clearly and readily and is pleasant and good-humored in his demeanor. I have a houseful of happy bricks now. I would recommend Jeremey highly to anyone who has a masonry project (brick, stone, tile, chimney).

Has completed three projects for me (replaced chimney cap; redo of front stoop /pointed and replaced brick; and replaced numerous tiles on back porch). All were completed in a timely fashion. Quality of work met / exceeded my expectations. I have recommended "On Point Masonry" to my neighbors.
