Save your time and money and use a different builder! My husband and I were looking to build a home in Lincoln and we found the perfect lot! The lot happened to be owned by OnCenter Construction, Inc. We spent several weeks getting a floor plan in place (communication with oncenter is TERRIBLE). By the time we were able to sign a contract, OnCenter revoked it a week later and told us we had to pay $15,000 more than the original quote due to increase in cost of lumber, despite the already high cost of the floorplan we had chosen. OnCenter allowed us to wait 60 days to see if lumber costs went down. After waiting the 60 days there was no change in lumber costs so we had anticipated to pay the extra $15k but to our surprise when we got the contract back to sign they had tacked on an additional $41,000. When we asked where these additional costs came from the response that we had gotten was that the first contract we had signed the builder "shot from the hip" on pricing whereas the second contract he had actually ran the numbers and that's just how much things cost now. During that 60 day wait period interest rates increased by %2. If we had known the price was going to be that significantly higher we would have backed out 2 months prior and would have been able to find something else at a lower interest rate. OnCenter wasted our time. I would not trust them. Even after they admitted fault they would not do anything to make it right. We asked if we could purchase the lot from them and they told us no. This is a builder who cares about money and not about you. Would not recommend OnCenter Construction, Inc. to anyone.
