Entered into a contract with Kevin Hubbard -- One of a Kind Home Design -- July of 2012 to remodel my home. He said he would have the job finished by mid-November 2012. That 4-month job turned into a 3+ year disaster and is still far from completed. He comes across as a nice guy but does not follow through and was often dishonest with me. To be fair, he does some things well (framing) but his plumbing and electrical are horrible and I have had to correct many, many of his mistakes including electrical safety issues. The countless delays are never his fault. He hired sub-contractors and then did not pay them so I was stuck with the bill to avoid liens on my house. I filed a complaint with California Contractor's State Licensing Board and that evolved into arbitration, which I won. The state found him guilty of asking for money for work not completed and I received judgement for a significant financial award from him. That was many months ago and I haven't seen a cent so far. As a result, Kevin Hubbard's license has been suspended and recently revoked. Avoid this guy -- he will sound sincere but he can and did cheat me, he may do the same to you.
