    Full Home Remodel + Addition
    $750,000

    I am an investor who flips homes and have used many contractors over the years. What impressed me working with Open remodel is their agility and attention to details. As an investor I have very strict timelines to turn the property around.
    Time is money. To find a reliable Design-Build partner is the key to success.
    I was always able to get hold of their project managers and things got taken care of quickly. Looking forward to working with them on many more projects.

    Adding 2-car garage & an ADU
    $10,000

    My husband and I were thinking to have a new 2-car garage and an ADU built in our backyard earlier this year. So, we looked around for a firm that could get us there. We got some various estimates and the estimate from Open Remodel was competitive and reasonable which also fits our budget.

    Because this all taken place during Covid-19, we did pretty much everything virtually. Ashish came to inspect our property and took measurements. Ashutosh worked with us via Zoom to achieve the floor plan we envision. From there, our set of plans were developed and would include very detailed Site, Roof Plan, Elevation, Building Section, Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing, Title 24, and Structural. Shweta make sure all drawings/documents were submitted to the City of San Jose for building permits.

    Overall, The team at Open Remodel is very knowledgeable. We had a great experience working with them and we are very happy with their service.

    Architectural plans

    We are very happy with the architectural plan Open Remodel came up with for our kitchen project. Open Remodel is a branch of a realty company. (They also offer realty and construction services.)

    We interviewed another firm before finding Open Remodel on Yelp. The other company's price estimate for architectural plans kept going up and up. It was like they were feeling us out for how much we could pay. It was a huge red flag. We are willing to pay a fair price but we don't want to be taken advantage of. The quote we received from Ashish (one of the owners of Open Remodel) was fair and in line with what we'd budgeted. 

    The Open Remodel architect Ashish assigned us to, Ron, was also very pleasant to work with. He not only listened to our vision but also had great suggestions, including putting a window into the kitchen.  I will be a great way to break up what would otherwise be a full wall of cabinets. We'll be able to make that area into a bar (or coffee bar)—exciting.

    Our project was unusual because Open Remodel finished our plans just as the pandemic was starting. We put our project on hold during shelter-in-place and for a few months after that. When we finally submitted the plans to the city, Ashish was true to his word, not charging us to revise the drawings for changes the city asked for. In fact the planning department didn't have any changes other than wanting a clause added to the plans.  You are in good hands when you work with Open Remodel.

    We have a 50-year-old house in Los Altos that needed a full home remodel.

    When we first started out, we had some very unpleasant experiences with our full home remodel until we met Ashish Kumar, Head of Business Development at OpenRemodel. He was a breath of fresh air for us. He presented himself very well, is personally very experienced in having done remodeling on his own properties in the past, and he is very thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable, and professional. He always put us, the customer, first, lead us in the right direction, and took care of everything, including any problems with the City of Los Altos. Ashutosh Gupta, our architect in this company, also did a great job. He is very patient, thoughtful, and competent in his work.

    Getting our blue prints done right, meeting the City of Los Altos building requirements, and doing this in a cost-effective and timely manner, Ashish and Ashutosh, as well as the other employees at OpenRemodel, worked hard and in a very efficient and timely matter. We would receive emails from them beginning as early at 7:30 am until very late at night. They worked during weekend hours and holidays when necessary. They made it happen!

    Now we are in great shape. We can't recommend this company highly enough. Thank you OpenRemodel!!
