Replace carpet with vinyl plank, replace trim & all interior doors, remodel both bathrooms including

I highly recommend Opportunity Construction, 100%! I had my carpets replaced with vinyl plank, new trim, interior doors, my master bath & full guest bath gutted & remodeled. Dean and his crew did amazing work, were very honest, detailed, friendly & cleaned up after themselves every single time, all for very a reasonable price. I am 100% satisfied with the work they did. I will definitely be calling Dean again for my future plans. Thank you, again!!

    finish building a kit home

What a screw up. Hired him to work time and materials. I always paid him at the end of the day in either cash or check. Got down to a critical part of the build (putting roof trusses up, rented a very expensive piece of equipment and he walks off the job. Leaves us hanging with a very expensive piece of quipment sitting in the mud. Then doesn't answer phone calls or responds to texts. You want to hire a guy where you have to oversee everything he does, then go ahead, hire this guy. You will regret it.

    Build deck

We hired Opportunity Con. to build a deck on the front of our house. It came in under budget and it looks great. Would definitely use them again.

Build two patios, steps, and some miscellaneous jobs.
    150 days
    Never Again

Never again!! Two week project to build a retaining wall and two flagstone patios and steps, turned into almost 4 months and a lot of disappointments. Coming to work at 10am, taking a long lunch, and leaving at 3pm doesn't allow much time to do the work in the contracted time frame.

They ruined the summer that we thought we would have relaxing on a nice patio. Now all we see is the results of how inexperienced and mostly unsupervised workers do a project. Most of our friends who have seen this project can't believe that it was done by a professional.

Dean Curow of Opportunity Construction, LLC Edmonds, WA, says that he is the most honest contractor we will find, but his actions show otherwise!!

We had discussed project design, etc. before the contract was signed. Once the work started Dean did mostly what he wanted and not always what we had talked about. If you work with him make sure you get every minor detail in the contract or most likely he will say that you never discussed them and that you are just complaining about the job.

So much mortar was left on flagstone for a deck landing that you couldn't really see the flagstone. This was fixed but not until a lot of requests were made to fix it. But water now slopes towards the wood stair risers. Flagstone was supposed to have about 1" gaps, but most are a lot larger up to 5" or so. Dean says you can't cut flagstone to fit because it will continue to break. Bull! Towards the end of the project Dean brought in two professionals to fix some of these problems and they cut some of the flagstone to fit. But he didn't have them here long enough to fix most of the problems.

A sand base was used and no border so sand is falling out from under the flagstone. Most of the rock step risers have large gaps so sand is also falling out and undermining the steps. He used up to 6" of sand under the flagstone patio but did not compact it. After 1 winter, the flagstone has settled unevenly and now has a lot of trip hazards and some of the flagstone is loose.

Plants were dug up and not replanted as they had promised to do. It took him 5 days to show up to fix a gas leak in the fire-pit they built. He wants cash payments and other cash money during the project which we stupidly gave him.

He has pictures of this project on his web site but they are deceiving and don't show the end result very well. We have over 100 pictures of this project that show areas that they did not do correctly, are not safe, or not done according to what we had discussed prior to signing the contract.

We feel like tearing up the patios and redoing them ourselves just to make them look professional.
