Very terrible experience. We hired this contractor for a siding project on our first home. What was initially supposed to be a 4 week project turned into 8 weeks and now 16 weeks later my house still isn't complete. The contractor abandoned the job with my house only 50% complete. No materials are on the premise and the contractor now spent all my money and needs additional money not agreed on to complete the job. There has been no work on the house in over 2 months and now contractor wont even return any of my calls or emails.
Lesson learned, do extensive research on your contractor. There are several complaints against his license and several delinquency complaints against the owner on public records. Save yourself the pain and court fees.

Permits
- Building permit records show that Optimum Contractors Inc has worked on 1024 permitted projects.
This contractor did windows in my home and a few years later did 2 doors. The issue with this contractor is communication. There is no communication between the contractor and the client. When they ordered my windows a few years ago, the ordered the wrong color tint. Mind you this was 13 openings and a lot of money, so I dealt with the windows and kept them. I asked a lot of questions when they were installing and learned a lot. The positive about this is that they did fix some sill issues with my home and I am grateful for that. About 1 year goes by and the I open one of my windows and it does not stay open. I called him about that since it was under warranty and he said that he would have to contact the manufacturer ti have them come out and fix the window. That NEVER happened. So come to find out that one of my slider windows is bowed and leaks out air from the original install.
When I called the contractor to give me a quote for the doors, it took him forever to get back to me. You would think that repeat business is a good thing, apparently not. Anyway, he finally comes to the house to measure and quote me the doors. I advised him about the window THAT DAY and he said he would take care of it and fix it. This was not on the door contract, MISTAKE number 1, it was verbal between us. he explained that it should only be something simple to take care off by removing the caulking and using pray foam to get the bow of the window out. So I say not a problem.
Doors get delivered and they are beautiful except 1 door has the wrong tint. Once again, no communication. He should have called me once he noticed the door was the incorrect color and I would have waited for the correct glass to be installed. But once again, he just wants to get the job done to get the money. So he advises me that it is no big deal as they can remove the glass and replace it with the correct one. I say no problem sounds reasonable since the door is already here at the house. Front door goes in beautifully. Installers had a bit of a hard time squaring it up, but they got it in and it works great. The second issue is that when they installed the back door, they did not install it correctly as per the plans. Hr did not shim the door as it is supposed to be since the gap between the wall and the door was large When I told him about that, he simply caulked the gap to pass the inspection. Now being in South Florida where we have had some MAJOR storms, I do not feel comfortable with the door installation on the back of the house. So my advise to you regarding this and ANY contractor, no work is to start without the permit and plans ON-SITE AS PER LAW, and make sure that you do NOT pay them one red cent more than the deposit until the job is complete. and GET EVERYTHING in writing.
