I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Dynamic Drywall of Oregon.
Contractors are not above reproach just because their business is their livelihood. If I perform poorly on the job then I'm at risk of losing my livelihood. We're all accountable.
"He just moved in yesterday. Uh I just...There's some red flags I see. I just don't understand 'em." This was Dynamic Drywall's statement in court regarding the amount of time it took me to get my house put back together, get a Final Building permit, and move in. Talk about a red flag.
The owners are Sherry & Terry Evans. Sherry Evans threatened me with a defamation lawsuit after I had a lawyer write Dynamic Drywall (DD) a straight forward, professional letter stating my concerns about their company's workmanship. The letter was a requirement per Washington state law.
She wrote back, if you have "any derogatory statement, or actions about Dynamic Drywall, we will have no other choice to file a grievance for defamation of character with our attorney." This was the threat and the implication was lawsuit. A grievance means less than nothing because I'm a private customer not a business.
Before Small Claims court I tried mediating with DD, and I used the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Multnomah County's mediation service but DD didn't participate in the latter and barely participated in the former. For the BBB, Dynamic Drywall simply replied almost verbatim: "We did what the builder told us to."
The other owner, Terri Evans, engaged in character assassination and in my opinion tried to make himself the victim in Small Claims court. He said that I made him scared. Here's the direct quote, "...he sent an email saying he doesn't want us on the job anymore...it starts getting a little scary for me. Um because he was like oh we're not coming back to finish...".
He also accused me of bullying based on my emails/phone calls, and he said I threatened his worker's safety. It was Winter time, and he said I was demanding that his workers travel in the snow. I've never personally met either owner or talked to them directly outside of court. I said in court, "There is no evidence of me bullying." And there isn't, so I don't know what possessed him to say that under oath. I consider what he said in court to be defamation.
Another thing he said under oath was that the mud & tape was completed. I have pictures of his company's "workmanship" and pictures that show that the mud & tape was not completed (and is STILL not completed) by a reasonable person's standards.
For Small Claims court I submitted pictures of my scratched bathtub as evidence. I accused DD of scratching the tub based on a drywall screw that was in the tub and the fact that they were the only contractor working in the house. Dynamic Drywall of Oregon said that my evidence (pictures) was hearsay.
Pock marks, tape lines, and other blemishes still exist even after 2 coats of primer, texture, and 2 top coats.

My camera couldn't capture the small detail of pock marks in the mud joints. The pock marks still exist even after 2 coats of primer, texture, and 2 top coats.
