  Had my pool built by Matt’s company back in 2006 in Windermere
  Was a lot of hassle and aggravated times cost us more than quoted
  But end result was perfect

  We made the mistake of trusting ERIC and JANET MEYER from ORLANDO POOL AND PATIO BY DESIGN, because ERIC claimed that they are experts in pool decks, “our guys did a ton of work for Disney”..He even brought a pool deck contractor with him to help him sound more professional and sell the project to us. We agreed to hire them ONLY with the condition that this contractor personally will do the job, guess what, he never showed up again and ERIC stuck us with another guy who had no clue what he was doing. Not only that they did an awful job and had to fix and redo the concrete slab THREE TIMES, delaying our entire pool project by SIX MONTHS, the result was still bad as you can see from the pictures – its peeling off after 1 year…

  The worst thing is that their work was so sloppy (see pictures) that my brand new pool tile was covered with dried up concrete for months and could not come off.
  When I insisted on ERIC’S team cleaning it Eric reply was lying and condescending.

  He refused to come back to finish the job. I had no choice but to hire another company that spent an ENTIRE WEEK cleaning and replacing BRAND NEW tile that was all damaged by Eric’s crew. Only after suing him in court he settled and paid me $1,500.. My time and aggravation costed me tens of thousands in the process and I still have to hire a new company to fix ERIC’S work so if you value your health – STAY AWAY !

  BE AWARE OF THE COMPANY. Matt (owner) knows how to play the game to get away with whatever he wants. Contact the Department of Business and Professional Regulation and file a formal complaint only if you have a valid case that can be proven. I am currently going through the process of getting my pool completed on August 24, 2016, when it was supposed to be completed in April 2016, and it began on Dec 19, 2015. There were a lot of inconsistencies, necessary destruction, extra ordering of 3 pallets of additional pavers, calling names very discriminatory and the threatening after he broke own agreement on his end want to enforce it by placing a lien on my property. Email me and I will send you the form as it needs to stop. The BBB is currently updating his file. There were 12 complaints there in the last 12 months and they had a perfect rating. Nothing mentioned here is false and have anything you wish to proof the comments I have made. My intent with this is for folks to be aware and ensure that all spoken with Orlando Pools by Design is in writing and with dates otherwise you will be in the position that most are unhappy, no warranties and he still continues to place liens in people's houses when a consumer is not able to do same. Just ensure you are covered 300% before signing anything with this company.

  Working with Matt Szafran and his team has been a pleasure! Not only did he design a pool that was suitable for my family and hosting needs, he made some valuable suggestions, based being a family man and hosting parties at his home, himself, I went with the add-ons. How many people can say they have firebowls and rocks with waterfalls flowing into their pool? Well, because of Matt at Orlando Pools by Design, I can.
