OMG! Phil took forever with my kitchen. he was gone everyday by 3:00 pm and would not work weekends. He spent most of his time measuring and looking around. he gave me the impression that he really didn't know what he was doing. He said he was a master carpenter but i would say he is more like a handy man. I would not hire him again.

I had PT home improvements do a small job and they were very expensive. I asked Phil Talento to build a small set of wood steps by the door near the back of the house. it was 3 open steps plus a railing on each side. it took him about 4 hours and i was hit with a bill of $1200. I thought it was a joke at first and then I realized that it wasn't. I ended up getting into an argument with him for 4 hours of work and $70 worth of lumber. I should of had a contract drawn up but it was such a small project. I ended up paying him the $1200. I will never use him again. PT home Improvements is a rip off.

seeing all the complaints on the web about PT home improvements i wish i had done my research sooner.
Phil installed subfloor in our kitchen, dining and living room using plywood with various shapes and sizes anywhere from a 2'x2' to smaller strips (3 foot x 3 inches etc.) he also left large gaps in some areas and smaller ones in others. When I questioned him as to the space allowance, he said all the gaps will be filled in with thinset and then the ceramic tile attached to same. I questioned why he was using small pieces of plywood rather than 4x8 sheets and cutting them as needed. Phil said it had to do with expansion and contraction and that this was the correct way to install a subfloor for tile to avoid buckling. he said he had cut these pieces specifically for my job . It looked to me like scrap pieces that he had left over from other jobs. some of them were even different thicknesses. I wanted to call him out on it but i could see that he was getting a little angry about my questioning. Am I seeing too many red flags here, should i have said something?

I used Phil for a deck about 4 years ago and had many quality issues as well. his pricing much higher than most contractors. He does a good job at promising you the world and touting that he is the best. Don't be fooled. He is very cheap and will cut corners every step of the way. I had my deck built without a permit but Phil promised that it would be built to code. When I sold my house I had to get it inspected by Brookhaven town. To make a long story short we needed to make many improvements for it to pass. The footings were not deep enough, the deck was bolted to the house in only 2 places. Many areas of the structure we're not safe and to code. It ended up costing me thousands to get fixed. I tried to get phil to help with the repairs but he never showed up and stopped taking my calls. If you need a contractor for a project look elsewhere.

I used PT home improvements for a kitchen remodeling project. I have to say it was the worst experience i have ever had working with a contractor. The quality of work was not what i would expect. the cabinets were not level and some of them had been damaged due to the sides splitting from using the wrong type of screws. i tried to talk to phil about this but he said that i was nit picking and that i was getting a top quality job. he got angry and proceeded to tell me that the splits were not visible and would not affect the quality. what a mistake, 2 months later the cabinets are now starting to pull away from the wall and Phil will not take my calls.

I had Phil Talento from PT home improvements remodel a bathroom. about a month later i noticed a leak in the bathroom sink where he made the connections for the faucet. I called Mr Talento to come out and take a look. he refused and said that he was not responsible for the leak and that the pipe coming out of the wall is the source of the leak. I explained to him that he is correct. it's right where you made the connection. He told me not to involve him in my problems and call a plumber and then hung up. I had to call in a plumber and have it repaired. i also needed to order another sink because the new one was water damaged. when i pulled up the sink i noticed my floor tile was cracked under it. luckily you cant see it.
