I had a terrible experience with Pacific Ponds & Design. The owner, Hal Rodman, quoted me a price to build us a pond in our backyard. He took a $1,000 deposit (more than the maximum limit of 10% of the contract price) and told us he would start the job in one week. Three weeks went by and he still did not start the job. He then agreed to refund our deposit - ten days has gone by and we still have not received it. The contractor has employees but the CSLB website currently shows that this contractor does not carry workers compensation insurance.
