Awful painter! He just painted over nail pops and holes in the wall! He didn't get the paint I wanted and kept yelling at me. His daughter that was supposed to be painting, spent the whole day on the phone. He said he would clean all the trim and woodwork before he painted. He didn't and just painted over everything. He kept bragging that he has painted for 40 years, but yet he does not know how to paint! Would leave and come back hours later. Got paint over my bench and chair. Found him smoking in my house while he was painting the trim. Left the doors half painted! I had to keep pointing out these mistakes to him. He never came back to paint my front door. The sloppiest painter I have ever seen. He broke 2 candles and a very expensive china bowl and refused to turn it in to his insurance company. Would not return any of my calls and hung up on me. He did not do the spackling in my loft. He was supposed to retape it and then spackle and paint it. After having to tell him I was reporting him to the Attorney General's office, he came back and said he would throw some caulk on it and I would have to paint it or get someone else to paint it! He left my house when I told him this would not be okay. He left my house and just started cursing at me and telling me I was crazy. By the way, I am a woman, but he does not respect this. DO NOT HIRE THIS PAINTER!!

Louie from Fair price painting promised a stellar job in my home, to the tune of $2600. He was to paint all trim, moulding, a few ceilings, and a small area of outside stucco. He was to be present on the job, as he was the only one licensed, not his 4 non english speaking day workers. He left my home at 840am to do an estimate at 930am that was local, so I didnt have a problem with him leaving. However, I had a problem when he returned at 215pm, and then packed up to leave at 330pm, leaving dripping paint on my doors, trim, book shelf, moulding, and painted over nail pops and holes, instead of doing some basic spackling, which was also agreed upon.
I had pools of paint on my hardwood floors from the dripping doors, paint on my area rugs, paint on my bedspread, and he painted a room that didnt need painting. He complained that the paint I got wasnt good enough (Behr paint, which was agreed upon), and he used a stucco paint roller on the doors, trim and mouldings, which caused dripping paint. When he returned to fix it, he stated it wasnt a big deal, that the paint was like water, that the paint wasnt exterior flat paint and thats why it was dripping, and then packed up his drop cloths, and said, "today is free. Find another contractor." Then left my house. He even told me his wife was follwing him around the house w a paintbrush, trying to fix the drips.
As a homeowner, I told him what type and finish of paint I wanted, and that I would purchase it, so he could begin work. He knew I used semi gloss for trim, mouldings and doors, matte for the one wall, and flat for the ceilings. He didnt like that choice, and yelled at me that I shouldve just got the exterior flat white and put it on all the walls. However, I have three kids that touch the walls when they go through the hallway, and this is why I chose matte finish so it had wipeability.
His wife cursed me out in spanish, then he demanded I pay him $600 in labor for his day workers. He has called me 7 times in 4 days looking for payment, and apparently he isnt insured and bonded.
I just had another contractor come in to assess the damage to fix his mistakes, and its going to cost me minimum $1500, to fix, and another $2000 to complete the job.
Dont use louie from fair price painting. He has negative reports with the BBB, and other contractors told me they have had to fix his mistakes, and his company doesnt carry an llc, which is an IRS red flag, and he only deals in cash or check. Save yourself the headache and hire another painter.

They were to paint exterior trim and porch ceiling. They left paint chips all over my yard, got paint on my new door mat, and they forgot to paint the porch ceiling and then claimed it wasn't supposed to be part of the job! My bad, I didn't insist they quote the job in writing, so what it entailed was only left to our memories. They also said they would charge me $1450 plus paint and then only charged $1400 + paint.
