David is a contractor that will cut every corner he can. He will make decisions without consulting the homeowner and then belittle you for having issue with the outcome. Doesn’t seem to matter that it is your home and your money. David will tell you that he is the professional therefore his decisions matter more than yours. He will give you a grand vision of what the project will look like, and deliver somewhere in the vicinity of that vision. He will charge full price but purchase discounted materials. He screams at his workers and they walk on eggshells when he is around. He started our home nearly a year ago, did what he needed to so he could get the next lump sum payment, then when it comes time to finish, he takes on other jobs and doesn’t come back since our job doesn’t have much money left to pay him. We have on 2 separate occasions asked him to finish the job and gave him dates we would like it completed by, and he ignores it. And instead of finishing our project, he starts an addition on his own home. We finally told him to not come back so we can hire someone to finish what he refuses to and he threatens us with a final bill and tells us that if we don’t pay by his timeline, he will put a lien on our house and send us to collections. Apparently a year to complete the job means nothing with multiple conversations and requests but he can put a timeline on and wants to threaten us. Beware. Find someone with real experience. Do not pay him until work is done. Your best bet is to avoid him altogether.
