Jason was great to work with at first; personable and friendly. Complaints and plusses are outlined below.
- Very poor at communicating with updates, photographs and planning.
- No forethought to order major components such as windows, counter tops and flooring. All products had major delays.
- I get that new construction has delays, but every excuse after excuse had no self blame and it was always someone else's fault. Too many to count...
- We worked out a deal to get the certificate of occupancy and final bank draw even though the home wasn't completed (we were 4 months late already). As soon as he accepted payment, he took the money and ran. We're left with multiple incomplete items such as functional sinks, trim work, plumbing, and now we have window leaks. He won't answer the phone, return calls or text messages.- Jason did very nice work on the home with great quality work, but I'm deeply disappointed that I became just another statistic after he got paid. I had even offered to pay a bonus check to make up for over expenditures during Covid.
- Bottom line, hold a large retainer fee for him or any other builder to that matter, and don't give it to them until the project is completed. -

When I first started working with Jason all went fairly well. then the excuses started. The delays piled on delays. We signed with Jason for him to complete a second floor remodel and build a garage August of 2021. January of 2023 nothing was completed. He repeated came asking for more money for supplies needed to complete the job. Repeatedly he complained about how high costs had gone up since starting the project. We paid additional money. In spring he sent a text saying he was closing his business and declaring bankruptcy. A month or so later I learned he was working on Beech Mountain. We had verified he didn't renew his license for 2023 right away after receiving the text. Unfortunately , we need to put the money into the house to get it back into usable shape in lieu of suing him. I still don't have a second floor bathroom that functions. After a year of with an unfinished garage, no roof even, we found another contractor to get the roof completed.
