    Underground water leak.

Had a water leak underground where it entered the house. Called Parsons at about 1PM and they said they would be out between 2 and 4. Thomas Parsons arrived at 2:15. Very friendly and professional. Got right on a pretty difficult repair (Ive done some plunbing myself). Thomas was done and gone in about two hours. Çost was less than expected.
    I highly recomend Parsons.

    Fix Slab Leak
    $4,581

I reached out to Parsons Plumbing Mechanical to help with a HOT water slab leak. When the owner came by he stated that the cost would be between $3,500 to $5,500. $5,500 would be the cost if they were not only able to find the leak in the slab, but make the repair under the slab. The cost would be close to $3,500 if the repair was completed above the slab.

On the first day the crew with the owner arrived at 10 am. They started to make a few holes in the walls in search of the pipes next to where the slab was hot from the water leak. Next, they attempted to break into the slab with a jack(rented). After one hour they stopped since they were unable to break through. They next started to make holes all in my walls in attempt to find the hot water pipes. The crew and owner stayed for only five hours that day.

The next day I spoke to Mr. Parsons with concerns as to the costs considering after not busting through the slab. He said “ You don’t need to worry about the price, we should be on the lower side of my estimate”. The only problem with that was he did not have any tools other than a sheetrock saw to find the pipes. I asked him why he didn’t have a thermal heat gun, or a tool to scan sheet rock to find the pipes in the wall. I myself purchased a tool to scan the wall the night before. Because of this tool, we were able to find the pipes of which we were looking. That day was four hours.

On day three, the owner did not show up to the job. His two man crew rerouted the lines for the hot water. After the repairs, they did not insulate the lines. They also did not make repairs to the holes that were unnecessarily made from not having proper tools. That day was 5 hours.

When I contacted his office to ask about the costs, the rep was very sharp and rude on the phone. She also did not want to send me the invoice since I did not want to agree with the cost of $4,750! She told me I would need to speak with Mr. Parsons. When I called him he had blocked my phone number. I had to call him on another phone, he called back. When I told him who I was, he acted like he did not know who I was… What? How could he not know? So, I had to go into detail. When going over the costs, he got mad. Started to practically scream at me. Stating how I should not have questioned him about the tools that were needed to complete the job in a timely manner. He then hung up promptly. When calling his office to obtain a copy of the invoice, they went around me, and I had to get it from my insurance company. Even though his assistant stated that she did not send it to them. Turns out that she lied.

I say all that to say this…
If you are looking for plumber that lets his pride decide how much he wants to charge, these are the prices you will be paying for 15 Hours with Mr. Parson’s inflation, and 7 hours of those hours being wasted by not having the proper tools.
Attempting to penetrate slab- $1,100.00 (1 Hour of work)
Investigate where lines are located- $895.00 (Did not have proper tools)
Plumbing Cost- $1,665.00 (5 Hours with two people)
    Concrete- $25.00
Equipment- $400.00 (Stated that he rented it for $100)
    Pipe/Fittings- $411.00
    Service Fee- $85.00
    Total- $4,581.00

Do not do business with this man. He will not be honest with you. He will mislead you when it comes to costs when he thinks insurance is involved( Which they were only able to cover a part of the costs considering the leak was in the slab, and not from a wall). He does not care about the person he is supposed to be helping. Do not let this man put you through what my family and I went through.
