****Plz read in full if you are thinking of hiring Pat's Floor Coverings*****
I hired Pat for removing the popcorn ceiling, putting the recessed lights and paining two-bedrooms and staircase hallway.
This is a VERY SUCCINCT ACCOUNT of what followed:
In short "overall poor professionalism, and bad workmanship, and most NOTEWORTHY the blatant professional dishonesty.
He broke part of stair case and dispose of without informing me and when asked about returning the broken part Mr. Anderberg replied: “Since I couldn’t fix broken part so I disposed it with no plan of telling homeowner or reimbursing”.
Mr. Anderberg employs poorly trained workers including his own son who kept on doing low quality job and when I pointed out on DAILY basis that job is not done properly they offers superficial apology yet continue to do a poor job. Main focus seems to be on getting paid while delivering low quality work.
Even pushing recess lights in the ceiling took him and his team 1.5 weeks and that too after repeated requests (see pictures).
Left portion of the wall without finishing the painting and asked me to apply two coats myself while demanding full payment. Did not cover furniture properly while removing popcorn ceiling and painting and at the end declined cleaning when asked.
Offered to texture wall - did such a poor job resulting in grossly uneven texturing, missed painting over mud patching even after pointing out to him the exact spot where the painting was not done, applying wrong paint which doesn’t match with the wall, leaving wall unpainted, the list goes on and on.
Given Mr. Anderberg’s age, I am surprised how a contractor can be this unprofessional, malignantly incompetent, dishonest in his job which is his sole livelihood - this is absolutely beyond me or for any other honest working professional.
I took time to evaluate work done by him by two independent contractors who testified to the poor workmanship done by Mr, Anderberg.
In the end, I blame myself for taking to Mr. Anderberg on his false claims of being a professional and not checking his reference and now I am stuck with shoddy work while paying in full.
Now I need to get the work redone at extra cost to me.
At the end there is comical ending to this story when Mr. Anderberg suggested me to apply two coats of paint my self over next two days as his son looks on - and offering some paint and paintbrush (see picture) as a consolation prize!!
Given his age and that he always accompanied his young son, I never strongly impressed my mounting dissatisfaction upon him but Mr. Anderbergs had no reservation doing a shabby job and lying left and right as his son witnessed such behavior.
I could go on and on about this horrible experience which was supposed to take 5 days but end up taking 3 weeks.
Mr. Anderberg would be the LAST contractor one should hire and if you need a full account of his work feel free to reach out to me.
