Patrick Wood Construction was hired to install a very large steel building for our company. He and his staff did an excellent job and we have hired him back for additional concrete work and are in the process of acquiring another steel building to be erected on the property by him. PWC was very professional and I would without a doubt recommend him.

    Kitchen Remodel
    $60,000

PWC did an extensive kitchen remodel for us. He was very professional from start to finish and walked us through the entire process. He was always willing to listen to our wants and needs and answered any and all questions we had. He was full of information and gave us many great ideas for future projects. He did a great job at making us feel comfortable in our home when it was under construction. We are extremely pleased with his beautiful work and highly recommend his company. In fact we've already referred him to several of our friends and colleagues!

We hired Patrick Wood Construction for a stamped concrete patio. It turned out AMAZING! He came highly recommended to us and I'm so glad we trusted our gut instinct on going with him. He was timely, his staff was professional and he explained the entire process to us all along the way. We just love our patio!!!

    Cement Pad, Fence, Other

Patrick started out ok. He did a concrete pad for a garage we were adding to a property. My husband trusted him (big mistake!) and continued to hire him for other projects on this property. After awhile everything started moving at a snail's pace and each project seemed to get more and more expensive with the hourly labor costs skyrocketing. The final straw was when he presented us with an invoice for a fence that was $2000.00 over on the actual building materials. Seems he wanted us to pay the interest on his credit card for the fence materials he purchased at Home Depot. When we pointed out that this was not only: a) not our responsibility b) not written in a signed contract and c) basically dishonest, he quickly said he would "eat" those costs and take it off the invoice.
In hindsight, I realize now how much he "padded" the invoices all along and shame on us for not finding out until the end. But I learned one thing from this episode:
I would never hire or recommend Patrick Wood Construction to anyone.

    kitchen remodel
    $22,500

We hired Patrick Wood to remodel our kitchen. He gave us a bid, and said that he could probably finish the job in a month while we were on vacation. As soon as we left, he turned on our air conditioning and left it on the whole time we were gone. 2 days before our return, we called him and found out our cabinets were 2 weeks late. Arriving home, we found our blind, window, light, outlets and tile covered with drywall, the floor not patched, and a terrible paint job. A wheelbarrow half full of foul smelling liquid was left in our yard for a month. 3 days later, the cabinets came. Patrick came and installed the stove, dishwasher, and duct taped in temporary plumbing. We were left with plywood counter tops. Then he disappeared with no word for 3 weeks. We touched up the paint, removed all the staples, and cleaned up drywall during this time. He finally came to fix the floor and was supposed to have the handles installed on the cabinets a week later. The floor patch was appallingly awful, and he had supplied 6 too few handles to the cabinet installers, for whom he left our house key under the mat. We found out there was no projected date for counter top installation. We told him not to arrange any further subcontractor work for our house, and he was happy to walk away. He agreed to fix the floor, and complete repairs from the demo. We arranged for counter tops and sink. We had no idea that the new sink would not fit given the situation Patrick left, or that we had been living with duct taped plumbing for 7 weeks. He sent us the final bill a month later, post dated 3 weeks. He refused to itemize the bill and threatened legal action if not paid in 7 days. Given the emotional stress which we had faced for the past 3 months, we decided to pay him to go away. He is a terrible, dishonest person and an incompetent contractor.

Patrick Wood recently did a stamped concrete patio at my home. From start to finish it was a disaster. Even though I repeated a number of times what color I wanted, he did not listen. He did that all the way through. He let the concrete get too hard and ended up with several places with no stamping. He said that is the way it was supposed to be. I asked him to fix it and ended up with a big area that is totally a different color than the rest of the deck. It looks awful. He said it would match when the cement dried. So NOT true. Then I asked him to do a matte sealer. He put a gloss sealer that was incorrectly applied. Now I have several large sections with white crystals where a clear finish should be. He says he will make it right, but every time he does something it gets worse. I have built several houses, had extensive remodels done in others. This is the worst experience I have ever had.

Response from Patrick Wood Construction September 15, 2017
We’re very sorry that this client is unhappy with the stamped and colored concrete patio that we completed at their home but we did EXACTLY what the client APPROVED on our job contract. The client also APPROVED and SIGNED off on the colors and those are the exact colors that were used. Unfortunately the client did not like the colors AFTER the concrete was poured but again the colors that were used were approved by the client BEFORE any work was performed. The patio was stamped EXACTLY as it should have been and there is no deviance in the color across the patio. We also explained to the client BEFORE the job was complete that doing this type of concrete is a process of steps and that the color would fade over time. We went back to the job site SEVERAL times to try to appease the client to no avail. We even applied the MATTE sealer FREE OF CHARGE and the client was unhappy with that as well saying that we used a “Glossy” sealer. When we showed the client the EXACT bottle that was used with the huge letters MATTE SEALER printed on the label the client replied by saying “Well this bottle must be mislabeled!” We pride ourselves on the Quality Products that we provide and have a lot of Integrity in the work that we perform. We’ve poured hundreds of beautiful concrete patios, structures, retaining walls and foundations and stand by our workmanship 100%!

Didn't get a chance to get back to him. We chose another contractor.

He called twice and sounded professional, experienced and a likely candidate for an appraisal; but the HOA opted for another contractor that was local prior to my returning his call.
