The worst ever experience! We hired Patterson Homes for some important constructions: build a separate garage, a room extension, new bathrooms, new kitchen etc. Everything went wrong from day one: never more than one sub-contractors on site, unable to follow our architect’s plans (wrong water line size, omission of AC return etc.), workmanship is pitiful: new concrete floor 13 inches up from the ground (problematic for a garage entrance!), crooked roof supports, plumber’s works pictured and detailed by the next company we hired to show how not to do it; have to mention the attitude of the majority of these millenniums: sexism toward my wife, repetitive lies about the slowness of the work, multiple excuses for a badly made job and finally abandonment of the site after we already paid $300.000 and refused to pay another deposit of $100.000 (as everyone from our architect to city inspector told us that work represented less than 60% of the money already paid).
Only work acceptable were the tiling and the dry walling in the garage: everything else had to be redone/reworked by the subcontractors we had to hire to finish our home. They even destroyed our brand new kitchen elements by not covering holes in the roof (AC) during a rain storm announced for a week (and after offering to pay for it….flatly refused ant involvments!).
Reading this (https://www.justice.gov/usao-az/pr/tax-evader-sentenced-prison) I can understand there was problems within the company…It is too bad we had to be the victims of it!

    Remodel
    $150,000

Jake was in charge of our remodel from the start Jake didn’t pull the proper permits from the city. We filed a complaint with the ROC (still active) and the inspector asked Jake and Jason if they pulled the proper permits to do the remodel they said NO. Now this is after they think they are done and demanding full payment from me and is suing us before any inspections were done. The city had to come out and inspect their work they found two pages of stuff not to code. They didn’t even have the smoke detectors hooked up properly. They broke our countertops didn’t level the floors properly, electrical was wrong and the day we had to move back in there was human feces coming up from our shower drain disgusting. Jake installed an window without our permission and didn’t install the lentil correctly so know we have a window with masking tape around it because they told the engineer not to listen to me because I didn’t hire him Patterson did. Their lawyer told me it wouldn’t be cost effective for Patterson to install it the proper way or redo our kitchen to the correct specs. If Jake would have pulled the proper permits it would have been addressed and installed proper but it’s after the fact. So now we are dealing with an ROC hearing along with lawsuits. This has been a night mare for my wife and I. There are pics on yelp houzz Angi list bbb Facebook any place that I can leave and attach pics to back up this review along with an open ROC complaint on there website along with and open permit with the city. Addition project

We chose to go with Patterson Homes LLC, it was by far the worst choice we could have made and the worst experience of our lives. A five month project turned into 15 months of nightmares--they put on the wrong trusses so they had to be torn off and done over. Once done over the quality of workmanship was so poor I had to call the ROC to get things corrected to meet the ROC quality of professional standards. This as just the first of many problems that we would be faced with. The quality of the work with all the other trades that were needed to fix the project was substandard as well. I have all the paperwork from ROC.

Don’t use them. They can’t get it right or make it right. All talk. We started with them in 2/20 with a $60,000 flood insurance job. It was a total cluster buck. Still waiting to get things fixed. Don’t use them. Ever!

    Remodel of Kitchen & Bath

Beware doing business with Patterson Homes unless you like to be left hanging is also unfortunately a true statement for us. Sadly, I can confirm that we had nearly the same experience with Guyton. Red flag number 1. First he was a no show no call for our first appointment. I should have taken that as a sign. Then after he did finally come by I had to follow up with him to get a quote for a remodel of our entire first floor of which he never sent to me. I took that as a sign that its best to walk away and do business elsewhere.

Beware doing business with Patterson Homes unless you like to be left hanging. We contacted them about doing a bid on our remodel, and they set up an appointment for Guyton to come and look at our project. He ended up running late and missed us entirely. We figured mistakes happen so let it slide and emailed him our plans.

He never sent us a single email or contact attempt after that. I emailed and called him repeatedly, and every date he gave me to follow up or get us bid info went by without any sort of update. Finally, two weeks after the last deadline he gave us we just gave up on Patterson Homes. I guess the good news is we discovered their lack of responsiveness before we contracted them to build our home.

Reese and his team did a fantastic job on our backyard remodel. Unlike other contractors we have worked with, they were there when they said they would be and even sent us pictures of the progress when we were out of town. The quality of their work was amazing and their main concern was that we were completely satisfied with everything they did. Reese was in constant contact with us throughout the entire project and even after completion to make sure we were happy. I would recommend Patterson Landscape to anyone and use them again in a heartbeat

    Great To Work With!

Patterson Homes, LLC were a great choice for our project.... filling in sunken dining room. They understand exactly what we wanted. Time table was efficient and they made excellent contact with us during the project. They deserve the five starts we gave them.
I would highly recommend them. We worked with Chelsea who seemed to know what we wanted and needed during this project.

After too many "trips" into our dining room, we finally decided to fill it in so it is not sunken anymore. We did our homework and had multiple bids and chose Patterson Homes. They worked with our schedule, so that was a plus. We worked with Chelsea (who gave us several great ideas) and to say she was on top of scheduling, meetings with us, etc. is an understatement. She is top notch. Our project was completed on time and we are thrilled with the results. If we had problems, she was right there to remedy it. We want to thank her for doing such a great job.
We haven't shown off our newly remodeled project quite yet because of the "social distancing" that we have going on, but I can hardly wait for friends to come over and see the results. When you walk into the foyer area, the dining room is very open now. It really pops. We love it.

Response from Patterson Homes LLC April 23, 2020
We are so glad you love the new dining room! Ourselves and our customers alike are very lucky to work with Chelsea.

Kitchen & master bathroom remodel. Flooring
    $60,000

I began work 3/2018 remodeling kitchen, master bath, and flooring in 4 rooms. No exaggeration something went wrong every step.

First superintendent quit a few weeks into the project. He was a big reason we hired, and cited the integrity of the company as a big reason for leaving. We hoped it was just sour grapes but came to find near half the company left at the same time to form their own. So if wondering where all the previous good reviews came from...probably those guys. He was replaced by Darren who gave lip service to being the best and having no problem picking up where left. Smooth talker, good salesman, horrible project manager. Was almost never there! Only time we'd see him was damage control after we complained enough. Unprofessional yelling at us over the phone at times. Reached out to the owner twice & NEVER a response. Forwarded our concerns to the same employee we were expressing concerns over, just making things more uncomfortable. Doesn’t seem to care. Promote employing workers direct rather than contracting as if it’s good, but just means less excuse for the poor performance. So with that I'll list just some of the endless problems:

    1. Explicitly asked for and bid clearly stated kitchen & bath cabinets were to be all plywood construction...much of the boxes and all shelves are particle board. When questioned we got doubletalk & buzzwords to make it sound like we got what we asked for.

    2. Signed bid said cabinets lacquered for anti-scuff & scratch. They scratch easily and the paint color transfers when wiped in some areas. Refused to do much but say the bid shouldn’t say anything about scratch resistance...well it does! Touched up a few scuffs (at our insistence…even the most obvious were left unless we said something) and did not lacquer over these spots.

    3. ALL the cheap particle board shelving they put in all cabinets is chipped and scuffed and there’s a giant hole in one of the cabinets (will post pics). How anyone would think these ok to install is beyond me.

    4. Plumber (Dion) tightened new oil rubbed bronze tub faucet with rough tool that chewed up the finish and left without saying anything. They did replace it after enough complaints, but their billing and bookkeeping is so bad that I’ve no way to know they didn't double charge me for this and any other screw ups they went back and "fixed". Couldn’t/wouldn’t itemize or logically explain any billing, and left things in invoices they never did.

    6. Same plumber, after above, sent to install touch activated faucet. Installed as a regular manual faucet and neglected to install electronics. To this day it's a mystery why. Left again without saying anything. And he took the electronics with him for unknown reasons. So when we mention they say woops, but we don't have the parts anymore, don't know where they went...they should have never left my house! Eventually they pulled parts from a local supplier. Work but aren't an exact fit for the model and don't look right.

    7. All 3 sinks installed leaked within 2 months...fixed myself because yeah...not having that guy here again. Refused to send anyone else on request.

    8. ALL grout used to tile master bed, bath floor, shower had to be re-dyed because the color was splotchy and just OFF. But of course, left it looking terrible until we mentioned. So they finally go back to fix, which takes multiple attempts because if we don't point out every spot (or even if we do!) they aren't going to catch it. Still not great in a few areas, but with this company it's something you just learn to live with.

    9. They DO NOT clean up after themselves! Brand-new cabinets were so filthy it took days to clean the dust and pencil marks left! They did drywall after cabinets and didn't cover so drywall dust everywhere. They didn't cover much of anything and were ok letting the dust get all over house. Front yard full of grout because they just dumped buckets wherever. Wood glue left all over kitchen floor. Didn’t mask cabinets and got paint overspray on walls and left it. Cut wood in yard without covering and left a bunch of sawdust caked in the gravel. Cigarette butts left all over front yard. Old rusty tools and other trash left. Still have hundreds of pounds of unused backerboard we repeatedly asked to pick up.

    10. They DO NOT know how to install & grout beveled edge tile backsplash. Took 3 attempts to do acceptably, and only redid because we persisted. First 2 were so poorly done and defective it's insane we had to point out in the first place.

    11. Installed the WRONG carpet pad. We ordered high-quality carpet and wanted the quality pad to match. For comfort & the extended warranty through the same manufacturer. They installed cheap Home Depot pad. Tried to doubletalk & say it's equivalent and still have the same warranty (false) and refused to fix. Then said "I didn't know" (say this a lot) but even if he didn't, why wouldn't he ask instead of install whatever he wants? Stood our ground and eventually they changed after a lengthy standoff. We had to walk stairs with no carpet and tack strips exposed for a while...like walking a minefield in your own home.

    12. Not only neglected to pull permits, but actively confirmed multiple times they were absolutely not required for the scope of the project...Wrong! Came to find after all was done they were required. This is likely to cause a mess of future issues for me. Response was essentially that permits are a money grab for the city and they never get them because it's not necessary and it’s what they always do so it's ok. Licensed contractor fine with doing unpermitted work.

    13. Took 2 months over projected completion date. And the only reason it's "done" is we won’t have anyone from this company stepping foot in our house ever again. We’re essentially left without a warranty.

That’s just what could fit here. Have to hire a reputable company to fix & finish. Wouldn’t wish the experience on my worst enemy. I urge anyone to think twice before considering Patterson.

Will not perform bid without approved plans and permit ready. Ballpark estimate was $160-$180 per sq foot which is greater than new or existing home price per sq foot. $120 per sq foot if roughed in. Reasonable price for job is approximately $100 per sq foot. Previous comments are a concern. Sounded knowledgeable and experienced.

    Flooring
    $22,000

First let me tell you that I am not the easiest customer to deal with. However....I put my trust in Patterson with a very daunting and challenging project. I had 1 week from demo to completion to replace a majority of the flooring in my 3700 sq ft 2 story home which was both tile and carpet with new beautiful vinyl plank. Sam Matei very willingly took on the challenge. He worked feverishly throughout that week, along with all his other workload, to ensure that our project met deadline and looked fabulous. My husband and I work full time and therefore was a very hectic week, but Sam kept it on task, on budget, and was on top of it! I was completely amazed by Sam, his crews, and others in the Patterson team!! Taylor Campbell, in the office at Patterson, also was one of our point people and assisted communication with Sam and subs. I could not be more pleased with the outcome!! Pictures will follow at later date but I cannot thank Sam and his team enough!! I highly highly recommend Patterson, and especially Sam Matei! We will definitely be repeat customers.

    Rebuild after a fire
    $212,000

We began working with the Patterson Homes group in late March 2018 after our home had a fire in December. Their bid was the most practical with the least “out of pocket” expenses for us. In fact they came in on budget. More importantly they agreed to do a “down to the studs” rebuild of a 4 bedroom home with 2000 sq. ft. including an attached workshop on a 5 week timeline which they met. This timeline included time to get permits, order materials, schedule the inspector’s, handling abatement and debris removal, and deal with the insurance company. Other bids were 5-6 months for the rebuild which would have put a great deal of stress on the family. We were making the mortgage payments all during this time so the shortened timeline was outstanding.
From the first day they arrived, they were professional, timely, fully staffed, knowledgeable about all the procedures, and code upgrades. The upgrades could have been extensive since the original home was built in the 1970s. Within the first two weeks, their designer met with us to choose colors of paint, flooring, counter tops, shelving and more. She came back in once the flooring was complete to make sure the choice of paint for the walls was appropriate and complimentary. To our surprise and appreciation, they made upgrades in materials that we didn’t request. The owner, Ryan, told me “it was the right thing to do”. Their attention to detail was a gift.
While on vacation, Ryan called me with an update of where they were in the project. My passenger was a real estate business woman. She told Ryan that in her 12 years of business she had never had a contractor call her to give information about her home remodel
As we walked through the house, we found things that needed to be changed. There was never an argument. Sometimes there was a discussion, and sometimes we paid for a change. This company provides a two year warranty on their work. As we move back into the house, we feel it is a brand new home.
We highly recommend this company for home rebuilds. You will not go wrong choosing this company to do your new home or a restoration.

    Install glass block window

We hired Darren Lawson of Patterson Homes for what seemed like a small job...replace the glass window in our shower with glass blocks. Upon installation, the crew headed up by Jesse came across a few challenges—using the existing window frame with no damage to the frame itself/surrounding tiles and dealing with the exterior of the house. They worked tirelessly running back and forth to stores to get the materials needed to build out the frame to the exact specifications needed for the size of the glass blocks. We did come across an issue with the placement of some of the blocks but that was quickly fixed to our satisfaction. The team’s precision with framing and installing the glass block window was impeccable and there was no need to repair anything to the outside of the house, including the sunscreen that went exactly where it always sits. We ended this job by hiring Patterson Homes for additional work in our home. Great job Darren & Patterson Homes!

Complete Remodel Master Bathroom and tile several rooms
    $30,000

We would highly recommend Patterson Homes & Remodeling to anyone planning a remodeling project! We worked with Dean Alonzo to replace tile in several areas of our home, and completely remodel our master bathroom—he was fantastic. From the time he came and gave us a quote, we knew we wanted to work with him. Jorge and his tile crew were meticulous and created a huge curbless walk-in shower on a post tension slab that is the foundation of our home. All the tile work is stunning and even when we asked for a modification everything was done with a smile. Carlos fabricated quartz countertops that are beautiful and create a luxurious spa like room. Jessie is a phenomenal carpenter and he can guide you with new and creative ideas. Kyle installed all our plumbing fixtures and left the work space in wonderful condition. Dean kept us informed everyday of what to expect, no surprises and our project was completed on time. Every one of the individuals involved in our project was polite, friendly and was committed to the delivery of satisfaction to us as the homeowner. Communication, follow-through and quality of all the work was beyond our expectations. We are very happy with our outcome and thank Patterson Homes & Remodeling for doing such a wonderful job.

Patterson Homes did the remodel for my master bedroom , bathroom , and living area , and kitchen due to a fire . From the first time i called to the time they completed the project , they had excellent communication with me . Patterson Homes also completed the entire job ahead of schedule and i couldn't be happier . Such a great job for such a reasonable price . The value of my house actually increased due to the hard work they put in and the finishing look . Would recommend to everyone .

    bathroom restoration
    $33,000

I had a significant leak at my home and the plumber thought it wasn't that bad at all, but when I called Patterson and spoke with Sam he immediately sent someone over to properly diagnose the problem. With his knowledgeable staff they discovered the severity of the leak that was beyond what we could have imagined at first. Within a day or two he had guys there that packed all of my belongings away so they could attack the restoration. Upon completion I almost didn't recognize my home. They did such a phenomenal job that it looks like it should be in a magazine. Patterson is a customer friendly business who does great work in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing the services they provide.

I met Patterson Remodeling Co and what a refreshing lay back

I was very satisfied. My floors turned out fantastic. If I was tech savvy I’d show you pics. Their rates were better than I expected and came in less than other bids. They came when they said they would and the quality of their work was outstanding.
