Repaired a small refrigerator water line under the house which took 3 crawls to tighten a clamp on valve. $85. OK.
So had him install a shower valve kit. This took 2 hours only to then find out the valves were long stem and should be short stem. He should have checked that before starting the work. Also he cut off the copper pipe so he could soldered the tub spout on because he couldn't or didn't understand the instructions on the "universal" spout. Told him to clean up and call it finished. He left but left 3 wet towels, trash and putty on and in the tub, and lots of boot toe scratches and ground-in grim in the bottom of the tub. After I cleaned and scrubbed the grim, I bought longer handle covers and installed them myself. So for $170 he installed two wrong valve stems which I had to retrofit for anther $20 to finish his job.
