Owner
You'll note this company has not been in business very long. Here's why:
I hired the owner of this company (and his prior construction company) to perform a 1st floor renovation and add a 2nd floor dormer.
Work started March '03. He did a complete inside and out demo, some 1st floor framing work, moved windows and a door, then months of minimal work and maximum excuses. As winter approached, he abandoned the project leaving the house uninhabitable and leaking water into it, and went out of business (no company assets to put a lien against) taking my payments of $43k with him.
Water damage, frozen pipes, and mold resulted. It was a mess. It took months to get another contractor to work on the project (most didn't want to get involved fixing another contractor's shoddy work).
Finally was able to hire a different contractor who cleaned up the mess and finished the shell. Had to GC the rest of the project and cut back on amenities due to the lost cash and mounting extra expenses.
Extra expenses were incurred for living and storing belongings elsewhere for much longer than expected (over 1.5 years).
While this "Paul Michaels" company is technically a different corporate entity, it is still run by the same person from E. Patchogue who skipped out on a major job and made no attempt to date for any restitution.
With no attempt to date to make things right, I'd question not only the capability to get a job done, but also any possible workmanship warranty followup.
Avoid.
