  Rebuilding of double stairs

  I received work done by Peery Construction on (2) occasions. The first was @ a seasonally convenient time of year prior to the busy summer season. He came immediately and persisted with locating a water leakage problem at my home. Upon its location, which was not obvious and required some rather extensive searching and cutting into areas of the walls, he immediately started the repairs to the walls. After asking my approval before doing so, he then arranged for another worker to complete the remaining necessary drywalling (area needed drying time), mudding & taping. He came immediately when I had some questions afterwards and responded appropriately.

  At the same time that he was initially working on my house's leakage problem, I asked if he would provide a bid for replacing and leveling my stairways from the main floor to the basement and a second set from the main floor to the upstairs. The upper set had a landing and then "T'd" near the top with three more stairs to the left side and two more stairs to the right side. This also included some leveling of the stairs themselves as well as matching both sets of stairs' main platforms on the main floor to the main house floor which had about a 1 1/2" height discrepancy. The basement stairwell also had a "headknocker" which I wanted cut back. So it wasn't a huge job but required some thought and consideration.

  He immediately wrote up a bid. He indicated that he would have a very busy summer season with new construction and that it potentially wouldn't happen until the winter season. He came, did and completed it the first week in January. Asked me anything that was anything for my approval as the work progressed and got it all done. Overall, it was really a good job and I was well satisfied.

  If Brad has a down side it is more from the office perspective. He's like I would be if I had my own business and something that I have seen often with smaller independent tradespeople (and not just tradespeople for that matter)-he can be slow with his paperwork! He apparently does all of his own and I'm sure that he would much rather be out on the job site! I would have given him at least 4 1/2 stars if I could have.

  I wasn't aware that this review would give me the opportunity to post photos. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the "befores" of my basement stairwell at this time. Also, the "afters" of the upper stairway are a little short of "after." Again, I don't have true afters because the mudding of the new drywall along the stairs wasn't complete yet when these photos were taken & I don't currently have those available. However, I will attempt to add them in the near future.
