If you want a builder that breaches multiple contracts, not honor warranties, and not address any concerns this is the builder for you. It takes a lawyer to get him to do anything. Worst experience
Response from Pelican Development Group March 26, 2021Ok, So, good afternoon internet world, now that we have all read the one sided view and outlook, on how a transaction looks like with a certain eschewed filter added in, I’d like to take the time and provide a valid response from the Builders viewpoint… Facts, to date in 23-yrs of being licensed in 5-States we’ve build approx 450-homes with only 3 negative reviews, with the others being Happy/Delightful and repeat customers. The 1st spoken reviews were very impenitent new 1st time buyers who did not understand the protocol of how to deal with a submit a warranty claim, and had a very unreasonable type of personality. To date all issues on the aforementioned negative reviews were resolved with utter happiness and positive outcomes. #1. The Clients i.e. “Buyers” were the ones to 1st initiate an attorney to the contract for review of language at the inception of the transaction, not as they portray it as needing to litigate a type of scenario. #2. The buyers agent was a very out of control and extremely hostile person, with very hostile lash-out remarks from time to time which when presented with findings of delays in scheduling from the following Gas Co, City of Sarasota Building/Planning dept, punch people etc. #3. Not at one time did any of the clients or buyers agents fully grasp or try to grasp how the building/inspecting/finals and CO process has morphed to a slow walk post-covid. PS it can take as much as 10-14 days to receive a CO “Certificate of Occupancy” after passing your final inspections in the City Of sarasota @ current timestamp.… #4. We as the Builder have Zero control over utility company’s, Municipalities Scheduling of inspections after we submit for the slated inspections. #5. Builders warranty, if they are claiming that the builder does not warrant or honor the builders warranty, I’d love to give an explanation to that. How a builder warranty works is 30-days after residing in the home, they the clients are to provide a list of deficiencies that have happened within the 1st 30-days of residing in the house, that 2nd phase happens @ 1-year.. To date neither have happened, since they only moved in in early Feb.. In closing, I’d like to add that the buyers were presented with a very beautiful home in a fantastic and vibrant location in Gillespie Park area of Sarasota, Florida, and at a fair market valued price-point. I’m sure if anyone who’s reading this has been in the service industry @ any point in their lives, would understand every once in a while you just have a certain type of client/customer who will be impossible to please, well, we just might have that in this transaction, however we are as always proud of what we build in each and every location, and will always honor our warranties and brand.
