We had a Trex deck installed by Penn Builders (Massimo Barile). All went well until I found a bottom step split where they used a nail to secure one side to another. I called Massimo immediately and sent pictures. We were told no problem that he would be by in upcoming week. Two weeks later still no one came. I again reached out to him and was assured he would be by shortly. After one month of no work or correspondence, I went directly to Trex. There I was put in touch with Caitlen Williams. She asked me to give Trex two weeks to get in touch with Massimo at Penn Builders. She told me he was one of their premier installers and I should call her back in 16 days. I called Caitlen four times with no one able to help me. When she finally go on the phone, she informed me there was no recourse from Trex because Penn Builders was not a direct employee of Trex. She then started back tracking saying that I bought the material directly from Trex (not true). The end result was Trex was willing to take the money from Penn Builders for the material used in my deck and give us a WORTHLESS 20 year warranty. They are not standing behind their product or workmanship of one of their partners, Penn Builders. Now we have a deck that will definitely not last in good condition because of two unreliable companies. If you are looking for any work to be done around your house, do not use either Penn Builders or purchase Trex products. They are both the reason contractors get a bad name. And do not let Penn Builders tell you that we are just a disgruntle client. All we asked for is what we paid for. I have all the text messages from Massimo saying he will fix the problem. Easy to say you will fix it but he does not follow through with his promise. He got paid and that was the last we saw of him.

I will gladly write a review for this company. Great service and honest people that deserve 10 stars if possible. Will hire in the future for my home repair and construction needs. They did an excellent job and showed up everyday which is a big plus in my book. Save the phone number it's the only one I think anyone needs for their home.
Thanks Massimo and "Pop" Rocco. -
By Lara C.June 19, 2018Home remodel, deck and landscapi g$26,000
My husband and I Hired this company for a home remodel, deck installation and top soil grading for our property. The work is as promised and looks great in and out. Very satisfied with the whole project completion, financials were transparent and they only billed us for work completed unlike others that demanded big deposits before any work was done. Inspections were all okay and they addressed any issues the inspector had. Very good customer service from an established company. Thank you.

By Maria L.March 11, 2018Kitchen and Bath$46,000
I had an overwhelmingly positive experience with this company during my full bath and kitchen renovation this past winter (2018). I have never had any major work done before but the initial estimate of cost and time were both accurate, and Massimk and the workers were very accommodating and easy to work with. There were no surprises, and everything that came up or needed to be changed during the process went smoothly. Everyone I worked with was reliable, honest, respectful and accommodating. I have been referring them like crazy to friends and family and look forward to using them again in the future. After all of the contractor horror stories, I feel very lucky to have found PBI. I actually missed the workers after they were finished
