Jean Paul did an amazing job with our backyard. In my mind demo was looking very daunting but his crew got demo knocked out quickly and then did a superior job in redoing all drainage created a fantastic new concrete patio that looks awesome and drains out to the street. I would highly recommend Mr. Pereira for any backyard job. As such, I have referred several family members to his business because of the fine work and fair pricing. I hope to not need any future big projects like this but I know that if I do who to call for the job. Thanks for everything, Jean Paul.

    Backyard Remodel
    $30,000

Jean did an amazing job with building my flagstone fire pit along with stamped and tinted concrete area with a pad poured for my hot tub. Jean also ran the gas lines for the fire pit and the electrical for the hot tub. I'm very pleased with the job Jean and his team did.

He was fined and had to pay the homeowner and pay contractors board. And still refuse to take any responsibility for his horrible horrible work. Concrete & Masonry

So you want to hire a contractor? Keep looking...Jean Paul Pereira is not a building specialist by any stretch of the imagination. Pereira Building Industries also contracts under the dba: City Concrete & Masonry. CCM abandoned our project and failed to pay any of the vendors. We are now faced with liens against our property and additional cost to complete the project. In addition the workmanship on the flat work was atrocious. It will cost $12,000 to have to floor ground down and resurfaced. Beware of this contractor!

Run 23 electrical circuits from the electrical panels to handicap door openers in various locations
    $50,000

Pereria building industries was contracted to run 23 electrical circuits in an occupied building in downtown Los Angels. The results were incomplete work, poorly run and unsupported cabling ,damage to fire rated walls and safety violations that nearly cost my company the entire project. It should have triggered warning bells to drop this contractor on day one, when they showed up after driving from the Sacramento area to Los Angeles without even a ladder, which later caused major issues with my customer, (Caltrans) when after being specifically instructed they were not allowed to use any tools not their own, were not only found in violation of clear directives but then refused to relinquish the ladder until a supervisor from Caltrans physically took it away. In addition to the cabling found not supported as required by code, the fire walls, which were left damaged and subsequently abandoned by Pereria Building Industries workers and the owner himself Jean Paul Pereria necessitated out of pocket repairs be performed by the primary contractor on the job site. One would assume an owner with an engineering license in addition to a C-10 electrical license would be fully cognizant of NEC 300.21 which clearly states any contractor that damages a firewall in the performance of any work being performed by that contractor “SHALL” be responsible for restoring the firewall to its original fire rating. There is no margin for misinterpretation as to this. A complaint was filed with the contractors license board and under oath Mr. Pereria admitted in open court to having failed to make the required corrections per the hearing transcripts. I cannot attest to the quality of other work Pereria Building Industries May have performed for others prior to or after this particular contract but as it relates to electrical work requiring penetrations of firewalls, I would advise anyone to steer clear of this contractor. In my opinion as a licensed contractor myself, and in the view of the expert witnesses statement under oath, the work was sub-standard and failed to meet the standards of the contractors license board, building code, electrical code and applicable fire code. The direct testimony concerning the quality of the work was from the State Contractors License Boards own expert witness possessing over 40 years experience in the electrical trades.
