I hired Pewter Plumbing to repipe my house for $8,500. He said he would run all the new pipe hidden inside the walls. Gave him a $3,000 deposit. 1st day he ran pipe in the attic ( I later found he had cut into my AC vent to keep cool, he had complained how hot he was, and never resealed it). 2nd day ran pipe outside the walls in the laundry room and a bedroom closet, he argued with me saying it was the only way it could be done( the new plumbers ran those pipe inside the wall). 3rd day asked him to redo water lines to appear more uniform he refused and said he would quit first. On the 3rd day before he left at one o'clock he said we would have water in one bathroom only but he had switched the hot and cols feeds and would fix it the next day. He never returned to the job. Never returned any of the deposit either. Reported it to BBB and unless I hear from him soon on returning some of my deposit the next step will be a civil suit.
