If I could give zero stars I would. I was assigned this company by my home warranty company. Multiple issues with their company. It took on average 25+ minutes to get them to answer the phone each time I called. They replaced one part at a cost I later was told was an upcharge of 4 or 5 times the actual cost. Then, after having additional issues, it was discovered they installed the part incorrectly requiring a different company to fix it. They also insisted I have part of my unit replaced. They worked the quote to charge me an additional $2k on top of what they were charging. Upon receiving two additional opinions to verify the need for replacement both other companies agreed that the issue was something totally different and that their invoice showed multiple charges of $150-$200 per part that was only $10-$20 each. I was also told by both companies that these parts were unnecessary and that their proposal was based on using a part that was incompatible with my system.
Bottom line if you want a company that overcharges, doesn't do the job right, and tries to make you replace things that have nothing to do with the issue at a cost of thousands extra...they're perfect for you. If you want a company that actually does the job right and doesn't take try to rip you off...look elsewhere.

Like many of these reviews. we used this contractor under our home warranty company, American Home Shield. Trying to do our due diligence, we had them come out 2 months before summer hit to get a AC tune up. This involved a serviceman coming to our home for about 15 minutes, checking the air pressure of our vents and telling us to change a filter we had changed a week before. He offered no tips on how to keep our unit efficient or did any real review of our system. Just kind of looked at everything and said "all is well." Real helpful.
Fast forward two months later. Our AC stopped cooling on Saturday. It is now Thursday and still we haven't been able to get any resolve and it is the middle of the summer in South Texas. We had a serviceman visit our home for a whopping 5 minutes on Wednesday where he proceeded to check our unit, tell us a part needed replacing (didn't specify which part) and asked us if there had been any power outages recently. We proceeded to say no and he told us that he would contact our home warranty company to get the part ordered. A few hours go by and our home warranty company emails us informing us to call them on an update for our service. Turns out the replacement of our part was not "under warranty" due to it being out because of a power outage. We had already communicated there had been no power outages in our area but despite that fact the serviceman still filed the part as being out due to power outage. He didn't even bring tools in with him, how can you discern it was out due to a power outage in the matter of a few minutes without anything but your eyes? He didn't even test the system he just went into our attic looked at it for a few moments and left. This all seemed very fishy to us so we contacted a local family owned business who had done business with our immediate family to give us a second opinion considering the home warranty company would not allow us to use our own contractor. He came same day, and let us know the part that was out was likely around $900 and that was very likely why our home warranty contractor denied the service. I'm not sure how the pay structure works for these home warranty companies but clearly they were trying to dodge a high dollar replacement. Our unit is only 3 years old so this part is in fact under warranty and wont cost as much as assumed. If the serviceman from this company would've taken just a few minutes to review that he would've realized the part wouldn't be that difficult to replace and had our service.
Ultimately, do your best to avoid these people. They are just trying to make that $200 paycheck from the home warranty and bounce. They have no regard for informing their customers or trying to help someone get their house cool in the middle of 96 degree weather. No human kindness or compassion. I understand replacing parts is expensive but THAT'S THE POINT OF A HOME WARRANTY. I do not recommend Phil's Good A/C and absolutely recommend avoiding American Home Shield as a home warranty company.

Left a disabled Veteran to return home from cancer biopsy to a home with no AC. Tech couldn't figure out the compressor and kept calling boss for help. The freon levels were fine he told me. It was something else with the compressor...maybe the compressor blanket. Boss was supposed to come and never did. Tech went flying out of my gate saying "I've gotta go! I've gotta go! They told me to leave! No explanation. No follow up. Just gone.
In desperation, I called another co out. Seems that Phils Good AC had released 4lbs of my freon and left oil all over the AC pad!

Our neighbor alerted us to a horrible noise that our condenser was making. We called our warranty company who set up our service call. From the moment that Phil's Good A/C & Heating called to schedule the appointment thru the end of the call we were 100% pleased. The Technician arrived on time and was very professional. We had made a video of our unit while it was making the noise so the technician had a starting point. At no time was the technician able to replicate the noise that was heard, but he did check the system for every conceivable item that could have caused the noise. We were extremely pleased with the Technician professionalism. We highly recommend Phil's for any service needs

I assume the only way this company remains in business is through warranty companies. This company knows that for work to get paid for by the warranty company that they have to complete the entire scope. Simple things like tying in a PVC drain line. This company is charging $775 to tie in the coolant lines and drain lines. I asked for an itemized list, they are charging $275 to tie into existing PVC Pipe!!!! OH! This is the discounted price LOL... Very unethical, they know they can charge what ever they want because the customers hands are tied with the warranty company.
