BEWARE! My main line was clogged and I've had this problem before. It is a 15-20 minute job to just run the auger into the line and clear the clogged line. I contacted Pierotte's Plumbing and explained the problem. The office staff said a technician could come by and a $49 fee would be charged after an assessment. They said it would go towards the price to unclog the drain.
The technician arrive on time. He got out of his truck. I told him the main was clogged and I just wanted to have the clog removed. I told him I've had the same problem in the past and it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. Here is the $49 assessment. "Our flat rate to unclog your main is $315." I thought he was joking. He said, "I know the prices are high, I don't set them, I just work here." That's what $49 gets you. Of course I refused service because nobody in their right mind would pay Pierotte's prices.
One of their honest competitors showed up and hour later and unclogged my drain in just under 20 minutes. They charged a honest price which was a fraction of the price Pierrote's wanted. The plumber said a $315 quote is ridicules. He was glad I didn't fall victim to this company.
I sent an email to the company and received a response which stated they have high overhead to pay for. It stated their technicians were highly trained and well-paid. It also stated the $315 quote was for extra stuff they were going to do such as running video camera's into my sewer lines. This is not what I requested. I simply wanted to unclog a drain. The highly trained technician did not mention anything about video or extra work. He simply said $315 to unclog a main line. I feel all this extra stuff I didn't want was added later to justify the $315 quote otherwise the technician would have explained all this during his assessment. I mean what am I paying $49 for if he doesn't explain the job he will be doing.
Please don't fall victim to Pierotte's Plumbing and warn your family and friends. Their price that was quoted to me was 3-4 times higher than any competitor I spoke to.
