Platinum Repair

They diagnosed the wrong A/C unit on my complex. Then they wanted to charge me again to fix the original problem I called for. Alex, "the manager", called me and was very rude. Not a company I want to do business with ever again.

The job was assigned through my home warranty company CHW to repair our HVAC system. Dealing with Platinum Repair Inc was such a disappointing experience that I definitely need to warn other consumers about this unethical company.

Can I give no stars? This company is a won't fix your AC because replacing it cost so much more money. They used an incompatible refrigerant on my system. If you have R22 so not let them put 407C without changing the oil in the system. It will be a definite fail in short order. You will have to pay over $8000 for your new system. First American Home Warranty uses Platinum Repair. First American refuses to pay anything for covered HVAC replacement. Truly both scam companies. I am in the process of going to small claims on mine because the check is in the mail for about 5 months now.

I have been pleased with is PLATINUM REPAIR INCORPORATED (HVAC). I don't like that they are dispatched out of Los Angeles (or the San Fernando Valley), as it's over 100 miles away. I've called several times now for problems with my HVAC... with both the heating and the A/C. They have sent the same technician each time. The heater issue was a broken casing on a blower motor. He jury-rigged it so that it would work, ordered a replacement part, then came back in a week or so and installed it. I also asked him to look at the swamp cooler and check it out, as I had recently moved in, hadn't used it, and didn't know anything about them. He checked it out, and replace something in it... a water pump?... it's been fine ever since. Another time, the A/C quit... he came out, the main blower motor was bad. No jury rig possible, he ordered a replacement, and came back a week or so later and replaced it. One time the A/C was intermittent. He jury rigged a repair, but it didn't last. He then ordered a new controller cirucit board, and came out a week or two later to install it. This was in the middle of summer, and no A/C isn't nice in the upper desert. I had to make do with the swamp cooler (back up) until he got the new part.

DO NOT use this company! Read through the comments, and you’ll see that many customers have similar complaints—poor customer service, unprofessional and untrained technicians, poor workmanship, and unreliable. I reported them to the California State Contractors License Board (https://www.cslb.ca.gov/). Please consider filing a complaint to the License Board if you didn’t receive a service you paid for. This company should go under. First American Home Warranty assigned them to fix the outdoor AC unit. The technician, Dmitry, was dispatched and told me that the unit didn’t have enough refrigerant and the compressor was broken. He filled the refrigerant that day and came back a week later to replace the compressor. This work didn’t fix the issue (loud banging, not cooling). It seems that Dmitry overfilled the refrigerant, which broke the new compressor. We paid $430 and First American Home Warranty allegedly paid $1100 to replace the compressor. By now, we have been without air for almost 4 weeks, all during the recent heat wave. It is obvious that this company is a scam, and they appear to be working with First American Home Warranty in order not to perform a real, needed fix. Please, also report them to the Better Business Bureau—they need to be held responsible!

a technician came Tues morning Aug 18 at 9:00am and fill up our aircon with freon gas and told us that is the only problem with our aircon not cooling he left at 9:30am and assure us that our aircon is fixed since it is blowing cool air while he was here but after a few hours the cool air is gone and blowing warm air temp inside 80 is 86. I tried to call Platinum Repair office at 818-435=4442 but no answer and cannot leave voice mail PLEASE send your technician again today the temp insise our unit is unbearable

Platinum Repair was assigned by First American Home Warranty.
The technician told me my AC need a new thermostat. He supposed to come back with new one. A week later, I found out that they falsify the report & lie to my warranty that my AC repair was completed. Wow..... no wonder, I don't see any good review here :(

Very easy to feal with, techs are highly experienced. Installation was done in 1 day.
