I hired PRR for some storm damage repair in August 2019. They were canvassing our neighborhood and gave quotes for most of my neighbors. 4 neighbors decided to use them.
Spoiler alert, they were terrible. The roofers showed up weeks after the quote and after my insurance company approved the job. I didn't have any warning and the day they came I was having a dinner party at 5pm. At 4 pm they started working on my skylight, which is directly above my center island where I was feeding my guests appetizers. We put a tarp down and had cocktails and apps in my living room. The table was already set for dinner. The roofers finished up around 6:30 and I had my kitchen back. When my guests left that night, several of them stepped on nails that the roofers hadn't picked up. They also left roofing materials on my front lawn. I'll come back to the skylight in a minute.
I had several other jobs that needed to be done but after the roof I didn't hear from John or Dave for months. I got every excuse under the sun as to why they weren't finishing the job. After 2 months I decided to wait until spring and use a different company (who did an outstanding job in under a week. They even filed the paperwork directly with my insurance company. I didn't have to do a thing.)
Back to the skylight. Our old skylight was 24 years old but never leaked once. The new skylight leaked from day one. And, get this, they left a dark black boot footprint on the wood that is visible from my kitchen. A footprint! I wasn't able to get them back here to fix it. They said it wasn't their fault. It was the humidity inside the house and the drips of water were from condensation and it would go away. Spoiler alert two: it didn't go away.
In summary:
1.) They left nails in my yard. After picking up as many as I could find, I still found more this spring.
2.) They never came back to clean the footprint off of my skylight.
3.) They never came back to check the seal on my skylight.
4.) They left so many materials in my yard. (The materials stayed in the yard until spring. It was a lot of roofing materials and I imagine it was pretty expensive.) As soon as the snow melted, my neighbors helped me haul the materials to a dumpster. Of course the grass was dead.
5.) They ghosted me of months. I never even had a chance to fire them. It was just radio silence.
Oh, and you better believe they got their money. I submitted the roof to the insurance company (State Farm) and they paid out within a week. I felt clean and fresh when the 6 month long nightmare ended.
If you want quality work done with industry professionals, Platium Restoration is NOT for you. If you want a less than half-assed job done followed by radio silence, they're your company.
I hope this review saves at least one person from hiring PRR and going through 6 months of disappointment.
