I would not recommend plumber Dave and sons for any work. Stoped answering his phone. Not knowledgeable at all. I had to hire another plumber to fix the mess he created.

Unprofessional and unethical.
I had a gas leak on a 46 year old valve (1979) connected to a copper pipe in the basement, which goes outside. Copper is no longer allowed in gas lines so I needed a new gas line. My home warranty company, AHS assigned it to this company. As with most home warranty claims, it takes about a couple of weeks for the technician to come out, another week or two to fix it (minimum) and I couldn't wait 2+ weeks with a gas leak in my basement so I got my local handyman to temporarily replace the valve so we could at least shut it off.
When the technician from Dave & Sons came out 2 weeks later, he confirmed we needed a new gas line due to copper. He did not know how deep gas lines had to be buried in the yard. He said he thought it was 3 feet (that's water lines, because they need to be below the frost line, gas doesn't freeze). He also said they don't often do gas lines (sounds more like never). He also said they would most likely pass on the job (understandable and I appreciated that honesty at the time).
Another 2 weeks later and no returned calls/voicemails from this company, AHS lets me know that the technician claimed our issue was because of "improper installation", which resulted in AHS denying our claim. This technician lied outright and claimed my handyman caused the issue. My handyman would not have touched it in the first place if it didn't start leaking due to 46 years of wear and tear, and he was only temporarily fixing an unsafe situation for my family, allowing us to shut off the gas.
I can understand them not wanting to take on the job for whatever reason they may have, but they didn't have to lie about it in their report and screw me over in the process. I wasted a month and a half waiting on this and I'm out $125 for the "diagnosis", and thousands on the actual replacement. I had to hire another company to replace the gas line (all out of pocket thanks to Dave & Sons). The other company knew exactly what they were doing.
tl;dr technician doesn't know much about gas lines, doesn't want to take on the job, lies in the report to get the home warranty claim denied. Does not return any of my calls and totally ghosts me. Costs me thousands of dollars. Thanks Dave & Sons.
