I would leave negative stars but that is not an option. These guys absolutely suck. They did the plaster on 2 different pools as a subcontractor and managed to messed up both of them. The first was purely cosmetic mistakes- a bucket being left on the setting plaster too long leaving a permanent circle at the bottom of the hot tub and a lot of plaster drips left on the travertine deck tile. Just laziness and carelessness
The second pool was a complete disaster. The design mix clearly had way too much calcium in it. The entire pool surface has the appearance of broken glass. This is known as check cracking, etching or crazing, which is caused by too much calcium in the mix during installation. Jason Evans (the owner) showed up unannounced and dumped a gallon of acid on the sun shelf without my permission or even letting he was in my backyard. This did nothing to solve the problem and threw the chemical balances off. Funny enough, their warranty is void if the water quality is off. Then they told me they would drain the pool and acid wash the surfaces. Based on my extensive knowledge of cementitious products, I questioned how that would change the mix of the plaster and got no real answer. A few days later I got a call to schedule the draining of my 1-month-old pool. Draining the pool also voids the plaster warranty.
When I told them that was not going to happen the woman on the phone (who I assume was the owner's wife) she told me "I need to take a step back" because she was doing me a favor despite the fact that they installed an inferior product. After that I never heard another thing from them or my contractor, RHR Pools, even though I asked multiple times for something in writing that would affirm this will not be a problem in the future
These people are completely untrustworthy. Do not use them. Find out if you pool contractor plans to subcontract them for the plaster. If so, demand they find someone else.
As to you Poolboy, I see that you like to reply to your reviews. Feel free, I would love to see how you explain you complete ineptitudes and
lack of accountability.
Keep in mind I am a general contractor and have documented everything I am saying with pictures and emails just in case this needs to go to litigation in the future.
