Pool by design did a good job on the construction of the pool and backed up most of what they said. I'd probably use them again, they are nice people and did a good job. My only issue with them has been after the completion of the job.
I've never had a pool before so I'm pretty clueless as to how to maintain the pool and balance the water. They provided a brief training at the beginning but it was nowhere near enough. I had to do a lot of trial and error with what brand/type of pool chemicals to purchase and a few times after I casually mentioned that I purchased a certain chemical they would tell me that I didn't need it. I wish they provided me with a "shopping list" of what to buy.
I've also had to call them a few times about certain issues I've had and they usually respond but sometimes it takes time or multiple phone calls when I feel that my issue is relatively time sensitive. The management of the pool has been a headache for a little bit but its getting easier and easier. Other than that, my experience with them was relatively positive.
