NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY ! Signed contract on June 18, 2018 for the replacement of 6 windows with a projected completion date in 7 to 8 weeks. Project was not completed until November 20, 2018. Almost 24 weeks (6 months) after contract date. The only professionals in this company are the installers. The owner Jeffrey A. Reckson and the office management are totally uncaring and totally useless when it comes to customer service. Wrote the owner ( Sent by Registered Mail) Mr. Reckson on October 23, 2018 detailing the numerous failed commitment dates and total misstatements given to us. Never receive the courtesy of a reply. The most unprofessional home contractor we have ever dealt with.

RUN from this company. It took Practical Windows & Doors over 1 year to properly install 10 windows, 1 sliding glass door and 2 exterior doors. My husband and I approved the quote and final measurement were taken April 2018, the job was not completed until June 2019. It was a nightmare. During the 1-1/2 year long fiasco they forgot to order some of the windows with the original order, installed a sliding glass door made from regular tempered glass when we paid for hurricane rated (they tried to tell us that’s what we ordered… so ordering all the other windows in the house in hurricane glass but not the sliding glass door makes sense to these “professionals”), windows cracked due to improper installation, they installed glass with many obvious defects resulting in multiple remakes, multiple failed county inspections, sooooo many unreturned messages and we lost track of how many dates they just no-showed on scheduled installs. In addition to all this when, when we were about 6 months into the job we begged the owner to either finish the job asap or cut some money off of the $18k invoice (2/3 of which had been paid for at this point) and we told him we were not paying another penny until the work was finished. Due to the amount of time we had to take off from work, we felt we were owed something for our trouble. The owner’s response was to file a lien on our house! The letter he sent notifying us of the lien actually said PW&D was about to run out of time for filling a lien due to the length of time the job had gone on, so he felt this had to be done to protect himself. Keep in mind the job was not finished, that took another 8 months from the time the lien was filed. This forced us to pay for the job in full before it was completed. We went through 5 general managers, used all our vacation days, called a liar by the receptionist and was told by the glass manufacture’s rep (ViWinnTech) that we were “problem customers who just needed to pay our bill and stop complaining”. There is not one positive thing I can say. We even waited a week from when the job finally finished before posting this bad review, just to give them the opportunity to call or text or email and apologize – something, anything. Nope, not even the decency to do that one simple thing. Literally any other window company would have done a better job.
