    Build a pool
    $75,000

Didn't do my homework so hopefully I can help some others. These people have multiple names for their companies because of how unreliable they are or because they are nothing but a scam. Be sure to search Robert Weling and Venessa Werling while doing your homework. Contracted them in Oct 2020 and only read Google reviews (which were positive). Started work in December 2020 and stopped communicating and showing up in May 2020 (pool was supposed to be completed in March) and we were left with a big ugly concrete hole with uneven benches and outputs. Only until we threatened law suit did we start to hear a response. Every bit of communication included excuses after excuses of why commitments weren't met. We attempted to have other pool companies come in and finish the pool. No company was willing to touch it due to the poor workmanship that was done on the pool. Luckily my husband is very resourceful and actually has work ethic. He went in and had to remove all the tile and flagstone and reset it (wasn't straight and come to find out wasn't water proofed/sealed when originally put on. My husband went on to repair/redo enough of the mistakes, order and install all of the pool equipment that we were finally able to have a real pool company come out and plaster the pool. So April 2022 we finally have our pool, but not because of this company. Robert Werling, who is the owner of this company (with his wife), agreed to pay us 15k, even though he owes us double that for the work that had yet to be completed. We saw 2400 of that and the excuses started again. Every single communication is filled with them. If they were valid excuses then this man has the worst luck and should not be continuing to run the business. And per his excuses should not be able to even have the ability to continue the business. I'm surprised to see them still in operation and actively advertising to scam people out of their money and leave them with nothing but a mess. Do you're homework and research this company and you will find numerous complaints that are very similar to mine. Also look into Robert Werling and you will see the numerous people he has scammed and left their backyards looking depressing and costing thousands of dollars to resolve his mistakes. All i have to say is try to keep most of your communication in writing because luckily we have enough in our texts that our attorney is moving forward with suit. While I would really appreciate to have the money he agrees to return....my main goal is to prevent him and this company from continuing to do this to others.

Redo pool coping and texture prch and patio correct drainage
    $14,000

Worst experience ever with a contractor, which stinks cause we genuinely liked both Robert and Venessa and hoped to become lifelong friends with them. Our 20 day job was still in progress 9 months after the start...the quality of Robert's work is way less than amateur. It's like a really bad pinterest fail to the tune of $14000. I wish I'd seen the other reviews before bringing them to my home. Same sad story...always an excuse for not working, never accepting responsibility for mistakes, covering up structural issues, misusing products, can't keep crews, never have right tools, emergency after emergency, need payments early because of drama...and when we finally just pull the plug and fire them...we're the bad guys.
Once we are rid of them...we as diy homeowners start removing some of the glaring bad areas of coping around our pool edge, that dipped way down wall of pool, only to discover over 2 dozen cuts into our previously unharmed fiberglass pool. Robert covered them with concrete smears. That's going to be expensive to fix. Then pull the painters tape off new drain channel only to discover a 1/2 inch difference from one piece to the other...nice tripping hazard just as we step out the door. So we proceed to remove that to replace it and discover the hidden damage underneath...but at least Robert wadded up a bunch of duct tape inside to cover that up. First big rain exposed that their jackhammer crew was right on par with quality control..huge washout on edge of patio. Nothing that framing up a mold and pouring correctly couldn't have fixed but who has time for that when you are only available to work for 20 or so minutes a day because you are so behind on all the other jobs that you end up working in dark at our place.. onto the supposed to be 1/4 inch stamped overlay on porch. This must have been the training area for stamping concrete overlay... it looked like a 4 year old had been playing in playdoh. That's ok..we as home owners had an easy removal because Robert and crew spilled release agent all over porch before dumping colored concrete on it to stamp so it lifted up on sheets super easy. Thank goodness they suck at their jobs so much. If they had used product correctly the removal would have been difficult. As they left it...it wasn't going to stay put anyway.
We have nearly finished removal and are now at the replacement stage and have reached out for a partial refund from these two to be able to purchase products to redo it ourselves. If they at least help with that then maybe there is a grain of truth to their Christian values. Venessa used her faith and family values to lure us in...let's see if it's real or fake. She is charming and sweet and I will say Venessa worked long and hard on the project and the areas she did are very nice. She seemed to take some pride in her work and has incredible work ethic in that she'll work herself nearly to death, but is in over her depth in the concrete world. I will keep you posted on whether we get a partial refund without having to hire an attorney. In the meantime I hope you are reading this before hiring and not after. Buyers beware of this pair.

    Inground pool build

My family signed a contract with Robert Werling the operator of Southern Outdoor Pools and Spas along with Premeire Pools & Spas, Southern Outdoor LLC. 9 months ago, for a $60K pool build that was contracted to be completed in 60 days (weather permitting). The first date he said it would be done was the week before the 19th of Nov and now we are 9 months in and counting with so many “completions” dates set I lost count. They rarely respond to inquiries and when they do, they are usually an excuse along with promise after promise of completion dates that never materialize even though I have been overly patient with them. When we first meet, he spoke of having to many crew members and that they could finish in no time easy. Then when work was not accomplished, they give excuse after excuse on why the pool is not completed (dump truck broke down/trades won't work/equipment factory damaged by weather) as a customer I paid to have a product completed on time and correctly. I also paid the amounts they asked for immediately and they mismanaged the funds they requested. I had prepaid for equipment, and plaster work and he did not have those funds allotted correctly and they cancelled the services they say they had scheduled due to that also. If you can't do the job don't take my money and then avoid me or keep me hanging for 9 months. Run, run, run as fast as you can from this contractor unless you want the same thing to happen to you. also see BBB reviews, and yelp for others who he has/is doing this to. I am trying to figure out how to pay for the completion as Robert Werling has almost all of the loan funds and I little extra cash to pay for his deceptions and hire a good contractor.
