  Basement Remodel

  We were extremely dissatisfied in working with Premier Home Remodeling. To summarize our experience:
  • The communication overall was terrible. Not only the communication between us and Matt Papa, but also between Matt and his workers.
  • His timeline was completely off. He started 6 months later than he said he would and told us he would have the project completed in 10 weeks. At this point it has been 10 months since he started and the project is not completed.
  • He completely abandoned the project after about 21 weeks. He had requested another installment payment (which we paid) for work that was not started or incomplete, cashed the check that same day, and then he just never showed up to work again. He did not answer our calls, texts, or emails, and his voicemail box was full.
  • The work that was completed was of poor quality and included errors and damage to finishes. The bathroom and shower tile work needs to be completely re-done, doors were installed that were the wrong size, multiple things were damaged during install (a vanity, a decorative wine barrel, the shower shelf, flooring). They tried to cover up damage in hopes that we would not notice.
  • Work planning was completely disorganized causing things to be re-done multiple times which was wasteful and time consuming. Drywall was put up before completing the HVAC vent openings and to this day we have no heat in our basement because of this and have no idea where these vents need to be placed.
  • We will now have to work with a new company to get our project completed. Matt will not return to complete the project or correct his mistakes. We will have to pay much more now than what we planned to get someone new to complete the project and fix all of the problems.
